Kelp and Aave Begin rsETH Recovery as Withdrawals Set to Resume Kelp DAO and Aave have completed the first critical steps of their recovery plan following the rsETH exploit that disrupted both protocols in April. The exploiter’s rsETH tokens on Arbitrum have been burned, and a structured refill process is now underway to restore full backing for the asset.

117,132 rsETH tokens will be progressively moved from the Aave Recovery Guardian and Kelp Recovery Safe into the LayerZero OFT adapter on Ethereum mainnet over the next two weeks. Both teams confirmed that rsETH remains fully backed at all times throughout the process.

When Normal Operations Resume
Kelp said it expects to unpause withdrawals within approximately 24 hours of the first token tranche being transferred to the LayerZero adapter. Once contracts are unpaused, all rsETH operations, including deposits, redemptions, bridging, and claims, will resume as normal.

The phased approach is deliberate. Rather than restoring everything at once, the teams are rebuilding liquidity gradually to ensure stability during the transition. Users should expect temporary parameter adjustments, such as modified loan-to-value ratios or supply caps, as confidence in the asset is restored

The daily chart shows $ETH recovering inside a rising wedge since the February low near $1,800. Price has reclaimed the 20 EMA at $2,311 and 50 EMA at $2,275, both now sitting as dynamic support. The 100 EMA at $2,341 is the immediate ceiling, with the Parabolic SAR at $2,420 bearish and overhead.

The wedge is narrowing. Upper rail is approaching near $2,400, lower rail holding near $2,200. Price has been oscillating inside this range since April without a clean directional break. Until $ETH closes a daily candle above the SAR at $2,420, the trend has not technically flipped. The 200 EMA at $2,578 is the macro target above that.

Bitcoin Price Today: Hot CPI Data at 3.8% Threatens Rally as Fed Rate Cut Hopes Fade
Fresh US inflation data released Tuesday delivered an upside surprise that markets were not fully prepared for. Headline CPI rose 3.8% year over year in November, above the 3.7% forecast and significantly higher than the previous 3.3% reading.
Core CPI climbed to 2.8%, also beating expectations. On a monthly basis core inflation accelerated 0.4%, signalling that price pressures across the broader economy remain persistent rather than fading.
Bitcoin at a Critical Juncture
The timing matters directly for Bitcoin’s technical setup. The market had been consolidating just below the $82,000 to $84,000 resistance cluster after a corrective rally. Analysts had identified two scenarios heading into the CPI release: a soft reading that could push Bitcoin toward $86,000 to $90,000, and a hot reading that would increase pressure toward the $76,527 support level.
Tuesday’s data points firmly toward the second scenario. Tighter liquidity expectations, a stronger dollar, and rising Treasury yields are all headwinds for risk assets. Bitcoin’s 21-week exponential moving average, which the market had only recently broken above, now becomes the critical support level to watch.

Key Levels Following the CPI Print

Immediate resistance: $82,000 to $84,000 cluster remains intact

First support to hold: 21-week EMA and May 8 low

Next support: $76,527

Scenario for deeper correction: break below $76,527 opens path toward $68,700 to $75,700 Fibonacci box
