AERO surges 10% after massive short liquidations: Can bulls extend the breakout?

Aerodrome Finance [AERO] surged 10.99% over the past 24 hours while trading volume exploded 98.25%, showing strong speculative demand returning to the market. 

Volume climbed to $29.26M as buyers increasingly positioned around the breakout structure after weeks of range-bound movement. 

Unlike previous recovery attempts that lacked strong volume confirmation, the latest expansion reflected sustained buyer interest throughout the session.

Analyzing why Dogecoin’s recovery depends on DOGE flipping THIS key level!
Established memecoins have remained relatively calm lately, with activity across whales and retail falling below expectations. For instance – CryptoQuant’s Spot Average Order size data for $DOGE highlighted a lack of both whale and retail activity across the market.Source: Cryptoquant

Spot activity has remained neutral too, with participants largely stepping back from the market.

Despite weakness on the demand side though, $DOGE has exhibited some relative strength. Since reclaiming the $0.1-level, $DOGE has held firmly above this level and extended its reach to above $0.11. At press time, Dogecoin [$DOGE] was trading at $0.1107, up 3.5% on the daily charts.

Thanks to this upside, the memecoin effectively flipped the 100-day EMA, validating the uptrend’s strength.

How is demand recovering across the market?

Now, although memecoins like Dogecoin have recorded a fall in market activity recently, $DOGE buyers have slowly and sustainably returned across the board.

On the spot side, the memecoin recorded negative Spot Inflows for five consecutive days. Over the last 24 hours, for instance, $102.7 million in $DOGE flowed out of exchanges, compared to $95.6 million in inflows.

As a result, the memecoin’ s Spot Netflows dropped to -$7.04 million – A clear sign of aggressive spot accumulation.

A similar position was evident in the Derivatives market at press time. The latest episode of upside volatility led to high liquidations, especially of short positions.

Cashing Out the Cycle: What Long-Term Bitcoin Holders Are Doing With Their ProfitsBitcoin's run from sub-$30,000 in early 2023 to $126,198 in October 2025 produced a category of holder the previous cycle barely had at scale: the long-term holder sitting on multi-year gains who is no longer interested in compounding them on-chain. Some have already realized those gains. Others are watching the current $81,000 print and asking whether the next sensible move is to cash out.

That second question, what to do with crypto wealth once you’ve decided not to keep all of it in crypto, has produced a quiet pattern across this cycle. A growing share of realized profits are not flowing into other tokens, equities, or property. They are flowing into operating businesses. Service businesses, in particular.

The Profit-Taking Question
The on-chain data has been clear for several months. Long-term holder distribution accelerated through the back half of 2025, with on-chain analysts tracking sustained net selling from wallets that had been dormant for years. The retrace from October’s all-time high to current levels, a roughly 35 percent drawdown, has tested newer holders far more than it has the cohort that bought below $40,000 and is still comfortably in profit.

For that cohort, the practical question is no longer “how high does this go.” It is “what fraction of this should remain in BTC, and where does the rest go.” Cash sitting in a savings account loses to inflation. Equities are a competing risk asset. Real estate is illiquid and yield-suppressed in most major markets. The remaining option, and the one a non-trivial number of crypto holders are now choosing, is buying into or building a working business.

In a QuickTake post on CryptoQuant, pseudonymous analyst Arab onchain highlighted growing strength among long-term Bitcoin holders using the LTH/STH SOPR Ratio metric.

The SOPR (Spent Output Profit Ratio) measures whether Bitcoin investors are selling their holdings at a profit or a loss. Typically, an SOPR value above 1.0 indicates that coins are being sold at a profit, while a reading below 1.0 suggests investors are realizing losses. Meanwhile, the 90-day SMA (Simple Moving Average) serves as a benchmark for evaluating broader market trends and momentum.

According to the on-chain data, the current LTH/STH SOPR Ratio is approaching 1.157, notably above the 90-day SMA benchmark of 0.982. This suggests that long-term Bitcoin holders are currently realizing stronger profits than short-term traders — a development often interpreted as a bullish signal for the broader market.
