This Finance CEO Picks Solana Instead Of Bitcoin — Here’s WhyFinance CEO Raoul Pal has expressed a clear preference for Solana over Bitcoin for reasons deeper than a simple asset comparison. Raoul Pal has never been short on comments relating to cryptocurrencies. However, his most recent Solana over Bitcoin preference came during one of the most closely watched moments from the recently concluded Consensus 2026 event in Miami. The choice was notable because Pal has always been associated with broad macro crypto commentary, and his market views often focus on liquidity cycles, network adoption, and price peaks.

While at the event, Pal said he would choose Solana if he had to pick between Solana and Bitcoin. This choice is mostly due to his belief of where the higher-growth opportunity sits as the crypto industry moves deeper into the AI era. 

Particularly, Pal linked the future of crypto to artificial intelligence and described crypto as the ‘Universal Basic Equity’ of the AI age.

Pal’s preference was attributed to Solana’s high throughput and low transaction costs, which could make it better suited for machine-to-machine microtransactions, AI-based activity, and fast DeFi interactions. Bitcoin, by comparison, functions mostly as a monetary asset, but it was not designed as a high-frequency execution layer for millions of small automated transactions.

Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, posted an updated Bitcoin Tracker on X and signaled that additional accumulation data may be disclosed next week, renewing attention on the company’s ongoing Bitcoin purchasing strategy.

Saylor’s post on X featured the updated tracker, a visual tool he has repeatedly used to telegraph upcoming Bitcoin purchases. The so-called “orange dots” on the tracker have historically preceded formal acquisition announcements from Strategy.

Bitcoin.com noted that Saylor’s tracker posts have consistently preceded buy confirmations, making each new update a closely watched signal among Bitcoin investors tracking major Bitcoin price levels and institutional moves.

The tracker update arrives shortly after a string of large acquisitions by Strategy. On June 16, 2025, the company announced it had acquired 10,100 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 592,100 BTC.

Jerome Powell, whose eight-year term as head of the Fed is coming to an end, is preparing to officially step down on May 15.

Powell, an “unconventional” central bank governor without an economics background, witnessed many critical periods, from the pandemic crisis to the highest inflation in 40 years, from aggressive interest rate hikes to debates on central bank independence.

During Powell’s first years in office, the Fed pursued a policy of gradual interest rate increases and balance sheet reduction. However, in 2020, as the pandemic shook the global economy, the Fed under Powell’s leadership supported markets by implementing a zero interest rate policy, an unlimited bond purchase program, and emergency lending mechanisms. These steps helped prevent a liquidity crisis in the financial system and averted a severe recession in the US economy, laying the foundation for the subsequent V-shaped recovery.

The market structure no longer signals continuation. The ascending channel break shifts focus lower.

Traders now eye the $0.00007000 level. That region marks the next major support on the chart. Unless buyers reclaim the channel fast, bears keep control. Momentum indicators back the bearish case. Directional Movement Index data confirmed seller strength. ADX climbed to 49.9905. That reading shows a strong trend.
