Bitcoin’s recent bounce above $70,000 is starting to look like more than a price bounce. An interesting on-chain analysis of on-chain data points to a change in how capital is moving across the market, with money that previously rotated into stablecoins beginning to edge back into Bitcoin.

That change is still small, but it is arriving as BTC recently reached an intraday high of $73,720 and as macro fears tied to the US-Iran conflict are changing.

The Defensive Phase Is Starting To Fade
Bitcoin’s market structure has been telling a story of restraint for many months. Capital moved to the sidelines, and stablecoins got bigger. Notably, the Bitcoin realized cap, a measure of the aggregate cost basis of all coins in circulation, plunged deep into negative territory, which is a sign that the market had absorbed significant unrealized losses.

This Bitcoin realized cap is the premise of the capital rotation setup, which was shared in a technical analysis by a crypto analyst that goes by the name Darkfost.

At the end of February, Bitcoin’s realized cap change fell to about negative $28.7 billion, which is one of the signs that capital tied to the cryptocurrency had moved into a deeply defensive posture. At the same time, stablecoin market capitalization grew by more than $6 billion, showing that investors were moving funds still in the crypto market instead of keeping that exposure in Bitcoin. According to the analyst, it was the first time this kind of rotation had appeared since the last bear-market phase.

However, the tide may be quietly changing, and the timing of that change has not gone unnoticed. Darkfost’s updated reading shows Bitcoin’s realized cap change recovering to about negative $3 billion, while stablecoin capitalization has fallen to around negative $1 billion.

XRP remains under pressure as the broader market downturn continues into its seventh month. Amid the price decline, on-chain data from Glassnode shows market participation has not recovered after the October 2025 crash, with the XRP Open Interest (OI) still sliding.

Key Points

XRP’s open interest dropped from 7 billion XRP in October 2025 to 2 billion XRP, marking a 71% collapse.

OI has since declined further to 1.5 billion XRP worth, showing that traders have not rebuilt positions.

Coinglass data shows OI peaked above $10 billion in July 2025 before falling after the October 10 crash.

Low OI shows weak momentum in the short term but could support a stronger and more stable rally if accumulation continues over time.

Scaramucci Says Corporate Bitcoin Adoption Is Inevitable

SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci has predicted a massive wave of corporate adoption following the revelation that Elon Musk's SpaceX has maintained its massive Bitcoin treasury despite enduring severe financial losses.

Scaramucci pointed to the aerospace manufacturer as the ultimate proof of concept for treating Bitcoin as a strategic corporate reserve asset.

"Everyone will soon have Bitcoin on their corporate balance sheet," he said.

SpaceX holds strong

The catalyst for Scaramucci's post is newly surfaced financial data highlighting SpaceX's unshakeable commitment to its digital asset reserves.

According to Arkham Intelligence data and a recent report from The Information, SpaceX is currently holding exactly 8,285 BTC, valued at more than $600 million.

The company has refused to liquidate this volatile asset to pad its balance sheet despite a $5 billion loss.

SpaceX's top-line revenue actually grew to $18.5 billion in 2025, but the losses associated with the artificial intelligence venture, xAI, have heavily outpaced sales.

SpaceX's Bitcoin position has remained completely untouched since mid-2024.

SpaceX was actually accumulating the digital asset behind the scenes before Tesla, its sister company.

According to on-chain data, SpaceX initially acquired its first Bitcoin on Dec. 31.

Elon Musk finally confirmed the acquisition to the public in 2021. Back then, he also disclosed his own personal holdings in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin.

The upcoming IPO

The initial public offering requires the company to officially disclose its $603 million Bitcoin position in public regulatory filings for the very first time.

The firm will be required to report these holdings at fair market value.

Soon-to-be public titan SpaceX will likely further normalize Bitcoin as a long-term treasury asset.

Aave's decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) has approved a $25 million stablecoin allocation and 75,000 AAVE tokens for Aave Labs, the core development team behind the protocol, under a framework called "Aave Will Win."

The vote passed on Saturday with nearly 75% in favor. The stablecoin funding will be distributed in installments over 12 months, while the token allocation vests linearly over four years, according to the governance dashboard.

The framework, which cleared a temperature check on April 5, restructures how Aave Labs is funded and operated. Under the new model, revenue from Aave products such as Aave Pro will flow to the DAO treasury rather than being retained by Aave Labs. The team will also limit its focus to Aave-related products, with the goal of accelerating development and reducing operational scope.

The proposal also ratified Aave V4 as the protocol's long-term technical foundation and outlined plans for a new foundation to steward the Aave brand. Other components of the framework tied to specific product launches and milestones will be subject to separate governance votes.

Aave is currently one of the largest DeFi protocols by total value locked, with its TVL exceeding $25 billion according to DefiLlama. The framework represents a significant shift in how the protocol's funding is structured and how its development team is compensated.

Aave founder Stani Kulechov called the proposal the most important in the protocol's history, writing in a post after the vote that holders of AAVE own not just the economic rights of the protocol, but the brand, the users, and the integrations.
