A recent report from Bernstein suggests that the Bitcoin market has already priced in much of the risk related to quantum computing. The firm believes that while the threat of quantum attacks is real, it is not an immediate danger to Bitcoin’s security.

Bitcoin has already experienced a significant correction from its all-time high, and analysts argue that this decline reflects broader concerns, including quantum-related fears. However, improvements in cryptography and privacy technologies are helping reduce some of this pressure.

According to Bernstein, Bitcoin developers still have time to design and implement a post-quantum upgrade path. Estimates suggest a window of around three to five years before quantum computing could become a serious threat to Bitcoin’s cryptographic system.

The report also highlights that institutional investors, including ETF issuers and large corporate holders, may play an important role in supporting and coordinating any future upgrade process. Their involvement could help build consensus across the Bitcoin network.
