Bitcoin Price Prediction: How Low Will BTC Fall After Latest Rejection at $73K?

Bitcoin is trading around $71k as global markets enter a cautious holding pattern. Investors are closely watching whether the recently announced US-Iran ceasefire will hold and how its resolution might affect broader risk sentiment.

Until there is greater geopolitical clarity, crypto markets appear content to consolidate rather than commit to a directional move.

The daily chart continues to show a long-term downtrend. BTC is trading inside a descending channel and below both the 100-day MA (~$75k) and 200-day MA (~$87k). The $75k-$80k resistance band remains the primary ceiling as it has rejected every recovery attempt since the February crash. Both moving averages are declining as well, which is a sign that the broader trend has not yet turned.

Following the collapse of peace talks between the US and Iran, Trump announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, issuing a very strong statement.

Donald Trump announced that the US Navy would impose an "immediate" naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz following the collapse of peace talks in Pakistan.

In a harsh statement, Trump declared that all shipping in the region would be controlled, citing Iran's refusal to abandon its nuclear program.

Trump stated that the US Navy would begin the process of blocking all vessels entering and exiting the strait, claiming that Iran is demanding "transit fees" from ships and that this constitutes "global blackmail." The US President also stated that vessels found paying Iran will be stopped in international waters and denied safe passage. The statement also added that naval mines believed to have been laid by Iran will be destroyed.

 Trump stated that any military intervention by Iran would be met with a very strong response, saying, "If American troops or civilian vessels are fired upon, the response will be devastating." He also claimed that Iran's military capabilities had been significantly weakened, but added that larger-scale military action could be considered if the Tehran regime did not abandon its nuclear ambitions.

The US President also mentioned the US-Iran talks in Islamabad, which lasted approximately 20 hours, stating that progress had been made on many issues, but no agreement on the nuclear program had been reached. Bitcoin price is trading at $71,210 on Monday, holding just above the 50-day EMA at $70,752 while remaining capped within a parallel channel. The channel’s structure still weighs on the broader outlook, but price action above the short-term EMA hints at a tentative constructive bias.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily chart around 54 remains slightly positive without entering overbought territory, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator remains in positive territory, suggesting that bullish momentum has cooled from recent highs.

On the topside, initial resistance is defined by the upper boundary of the channel around $72,576, where a daily close above would open the door to a stronger recovery toward the 100-day EMA at roughly $75,291, ahead of the more distant 200-day EMA near $83,087. 

On the downside, immediate support emerges at the 50-day EMA around $70,752; a break below this floor would expose the channel base near $65,872, where buyers would be expected to defend the broader uptrend from deeper corrective pressure.
