XRP eyes recovery as SuperTrend indicator turns bullish, says analyst



$XRP, the native digital asset of the $XRP Ledger, flashed its first bullish technical signal in three months.

According to on-chain analyst Ali, the SuperTrend indicator on $XRP’s daily chart flipped to a buy signal on April 18, ending a stretch of sustained selling pressure that began in mid-January.

A rough start to the year

$XRP fell about 27% in the first quarter of 2026, dropping from roughly $2.4 in January to a low near $1.16, marking its worst quarterly performance in eight years.

The asset was trading at $1.44 at press time, down about 3% in the last 24 hours, per CoinGecko. It still sits over 60% below its record high of $3.6 reached last July.

$XRP continues to struggle around the $1.55 mark, which has repeatedly capped gains in recent weeks. Ali noted that a sustained break above it would expose upside toward $1.9, about 30% above current levels.

XRP Price Prediction: Analyst Sees Bullish Structure Intact


$XRP slipped below $1.46 over the weekend, a level that analysts had flagged as the most critical line for the token heading into the final stretch of April. The move was not entirely unexpected on the charts, but the catalyst that pushed it through was geopolitical rather than technical.

The important support to watch now is $1.41. As long as $XRP holds that level, the analyst believes a broader bullish structure remains intact. Below that, $1.37 represents the 30-day rolling VWAP, a level that could come into play if genuinely bad news hits. A move all the way back to $1.31 is considered unlikely under current conditions.

To the upside, reclaiming $1.46 is the prerequisite for any meaningful rally. A clean break above that level would open the path toward $1.55 to $1.57.

The Short-Term Expectation

The honest near-term outlook is one of range-bound consolidation. The analyst described the most likely scenario as $XRP drifting lower within the $1.35 to $1.46 range, finding support somewhere in that band, stabilising and then potentially mounting another attempt at the upper boundary.

A breakout above $1.46 remains possible but would require a continuation of the bullish fundamentals seen last week, including strong $XRP ETF inflows and improving sentiment. Negative Bitcoin funding rates and the current uncertainty environment make that combination less likely in the immediate term.

What Is Working in $XRP’s Favour

Despite the short-term weakness, several factors are pointing in the right direction. $XRP ETF flows came in strongly last week. The $XRP to Bitcoin ratio appears to have bottomed, which the analyst described as a meaningful signal for the token’s relative strength going into May.

The key idea comes from moving averages. The 200-day Simple Moving Average tracks Bitcoin’s average closing price over the past 200 days and is widely used to identify long-term trends. When combined with the 50-day average, it forms one of the most watched signals in trading.
When the shorter-term 50-day Simple Moving Average crosses above the 200-day SMA, it creates what traders call a “golden cross.” Historically, this event has often marked the beginning of strong upward momentum for Bitcoin.
While past performance is never a guarantee of future results, the pattern has shown notable consistency in previous cycles:
In February 2023, the signal was followed by a 43% rally
In October 2023, Bitcoin surged around 148%
In October 2024, another golden cross preceded a move from roughly $65,000 to over $110,000, setting new all-time highs with gains of about 72%
For Bitcoin bulls, this track record is why the signal gets so much attention. Still, it’s important to remember that it works best as a trend indicator—not a certainty of future returns.

'All Banks Will Use Ethereum,' Pro-Crypto Lawyer Sparks Debate


Ethereum became the topic of discussion earlier today after the renowned pro-crypto lawyer Bill Morgan weighed in on a bullish post that addresses Ethereum's potential with banks.

The post, which has sparked debates across the crypto community, claimed that the global banking system would eventually depend on Ethereum at some point in the future.

Community dismisses bold Ethereum claims

The claims were made by Raoul Pal, an Ethereum advocate and macro investor. In his statement, Pal countered the viral narrative that Ethereum is dead, describing the narrative as hilarious.

According to Pal, banks tend to adopt technologies with strong "Lindy effects," noting that they are systems that have proven resilience over time.

He believes that Ethereum fits perfectly into such technologies, which makes it suitable to become the right financial infrastructure for banks.

As such, he declared that all banks will soon begin to rely on Ethereum for their financial operations.

Morgan reacts

While Morgan's reaction was not entirely direct about whether he is in support or not, commentators disagreed with the narrative, noting that the reverse will be the case. Morgan only quoted the claims in what seemed like sarcasm.

The debate was triggered by an XRP-based developing situation involving FXRP, where cross-network bridging has been temporarily paused as a precaution following an rsETH-related incident.

Notably, the pause affects transfers between networks such as Flare and Ethereum, leaving users unable to redeem FXRP held off the Flare network until assets are bridged back. Despite this, core operations on Flare remain fully functional.

For years, $NEO's treasury was held in a setup that would be unusual for most financial institutions: hundreds of millions of dollars in crypto assets were controlled through personal wallets, with no multisig protections and little formal oversight.

That person, according to co-founder Da Hongfei, is Erik Zhang, $NEO's other co-founder and the architect of its core protocol.

"Around 85% is controlled by Eric alone with single signature," Da said in an interview. "It had never been transferred to any individual or any multi-sig." The native $NEO and $GAS tokens Zhang holds are currently worth between $200 million and $250 million, Da estimated. That's more than $NEO's current $197 million market capitalization.

Zhang, for his part, has accused Da of separate problems. The two founders have been airing those disputes in public since December.

The fight has since produced rival governance plans and an unsuccessful mediation effort in Hong Kong.

Da published his restructuring proposal on GitHub on April 9. It calls for redomiciling the Neo Foundation from Singapore to the Cayman Islands, replacing the current two-founder governance with an independent five-member board, barring both founders from that board for 24 months, and redistributing roughly 26 million $NEO and 40 million $GAS to tokenholders.

Zhang's counter-proposal called staying on the board keeping the Foundation in Singapore, not move it to the Cayman Islands.

Monero's long journey

Bitcoin, the original cryptocurrency, operates on a transparent public ledger, meaning that every transaction can be traced. Contrary to a popular misconception, it is not anonymous.

Monero was specifically designed to address this problem by concealing the sender, receiver, and amount of every transaction by using advanced Ring Confidential Transactions) and stealth addresses.

One $XMR cannot be tainted by its transaction history. Furthermore, Monero is highly decentralized with a global community of researchers.

This commitment to privacy, however, did not sit well with some regulators. Over the past several years, Monero reportedly survived 73 exchange delistings. Yet, instead of collapsing, Monero’s transaction volume and user base have remained remarkably stable.

Earlier this year, Monero experienced a minor revival, piggybacking off the success of rival privacy token Zcash (ZEC). On the technical front, Monero developers are pushing forward with the highly anticipated FCMP++ upgrade.
