WLFI burns 100 mln tokens as controversial vesting schedule begins: What about price?The Trump family-backed DeFi project, World Liberty Financial [WLFI], has reportedly burned 100 million tokens.  

According to on-chain data, four wallets linked to the project’s team transferred 1 billion tokens to a vesting contract as the unlock schedule went live.

On Monday, the 11th of May, these wallets sent out 100 million tokens in six batches, worth about $6.68 million. This was part of the 10% of supply set to be burned from founders and team allocation, according to a recent governance guideline. 


Token unlock schedule begins

Initially, the team, founders, and early investors in the project didn’t have a clear vesting schedule for their investment. After a long-running blame game and scrutiny from the community, the project finally released a controversial vesting schedule for a vote last month. 

At the TGE (token generation event) in September 2025, the team and early investors were only allowed to sell 20% of their entire WLFI stake.

The rest of the 80% remained uncertain until the unlock schedule vote was released in April. 

Per the unlock schedule, early investors or presale buyers (with over 17 billion WLFI) will face a 2-year cliff followed by a 2-year linear release. In other words, they will only be able to fully divest by 2030. However, their stash won’t be subject to token burns.

While momentum remains modest, the ongoing structure still suggests the pullback may be part of a broader bullish setup rather than the start of a deeper decline. As long as buyers defend this key zone, the possibility of another leg higher remains firmly on the table.

According to a recent analysis by More Crypto Online, XRP remains within a broader range-bound structure. The pullback observed since the May 10 high is currently interpreted as a corrective three-wave decline rather than a definitive trend reversal. This suggests that the recent downward pressure may be a temporary consolidation phase within the larger market cycle.A critical component of this outlook is the defense of the key swing low situated around $1.38. More Crypto Online emphasizes that as long as this specific floor remains intact, the technical structure allows for another move higher, potentially within a diagonal pattern.Despite the possibility of an upward move, the analyst notes that current upside momentum remains relatively weak. The recent price advance bears a striking resemblance to the corrective three-wave move that followed the April 5 low. Technicians are closely monitoring the internal B-wave support zone, which lies between $1.40 and $1.42. More Crypto Online points out that this region is traditionally difficult to trade, as B-waves often fail to respect Fibonacci levels with precision. However, the internal 100% extension target near $1.41 has already been reached, which frequently serves as an ideal completion point for a corrective three-wave decline.

Additionally, the 100 EMA around $0.00000634 and the 200 EMA near $0.00000624 strengthen the broader support structure.

The Supertrend indicator also remains positive, confirming buyers still maintain control of the prevailing short-term direction. However, repeated rejection near the $0.00000660 area signals weakening buying momentum. Traders appear to be locking in profits whenever price approaches that resistance cluster.




The immediate upside barrier sits near $0.00000652, which aligns with the 0.786 Fibonacci retracement level. A successful breakout above $0.00000670 could open the door toward $0.00000690. Consequently, psychological resistance at $0.00000700 may become the next major target.
