XRP (XRP) spot ETFs logged their largest single-day inflow in nearly 11 weeks on April 15, with $17.11 million flowing into US-listed products, per SoSoValue data. The figure marks the strongest daily intake since February 3, 2026, and extends an inflow streak to four consecutive sessions for the first time since March. Over those four days, US-listed XRP ETFs drew a combined $38.86 million, pushing total net assets to over $1.25 billion. XRP itself rose 6% to $1.42 on Thursday, outperforming every other token in the top 10 by market cap. What Is Driving the Inflows The timing aligns with a broader improvement in crypto market sentiment driven by US-Iran ceasefire diplomacy and easing macro risk. XRP specifically has been benefiting from additional catalysts beyond the macro backdrop. The SEC’s CLARITY Act roundtable, which kicked off in Washington today, is being closely watched by the XRP community as it could clarify the regulatory treatment of digital assets used in payments, an area where XRP has direct exposure. The framing marks a shift from speculative idea to something closer to policy alignment. Reuters reported in August 2025 that Chinese officials were exploring a yuan-backed stablecoin to boost international adoption, a notable turn for a country that has banned crypto trading and mining since 2021.

Nomura’s latest survey suggests Japanese institutions trust stablecoins issued by major financial institutions most, a potential hurdle for RLUSD even in a market where XRP has long enjoyed unusual traction.

Japan has long been one of Ripple's most fertile markets. SBI's investment in Ripple dates to 2016, SBI Remit launched Japan's first XRP-enabled international remittance flow in 2021, and SBI VC Trade counts XRP among its most popular assets.

When Ripple and SBI announced in August 2025 that SBI VC Trade intended to distribute RLUSD in Japan, the move read as a natural extension of an already deep local partnership.

A recent survey of 518 investment professionals in Japan, conducted by Nomura and Laser Digital between December 2025 and January 2026 and released Apr. 16, found that 63% of respondents identified potential uses for stablecoins, spanning treasury management, cross-border payments, crypto investing, and tokenized securities.

Across JPY, USD, and EUR denominations, the stablecoins that drew the highest institutional trust were those issued by major financial institutions.

Japan may be Ripple's friendliest proving ground and precisely where the limits of crypto-branded stablecoins become visible.
Ripple's position in Japan goes beyond standard distribution agreements. SBI Ripple Asia, a joint venture formed from SBI's 2016 investment in Ripple, has operated as part of Ripple's regional infrastructure for nearly a decade.

SBI Remit began using Ripple Payments in 2017 and expanded XRP-based remittance corridors into the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia in September 2023.

SBI VC Trade's own investor materials describe XRP as one of its most popular crypto assets among customers.

Morgan Stanley’s Amy Oldenburg says crypto 'becoming daily business' across the firm
Bridging traditional finance systems with blockchain rails remains one of the biggest operational challenges for large banks.

Morgan Stanley’s digital asset chief said demand is split between direct crypto exposure and ETFs, forcing banks to build for both.

Morgan Stanley's foray into crypto products and services is moving from the fringes into core operations, according to Amy Oldenburg, the bank's head of digital asset strategy.

"There’s an inflection point here," Oldenburg said this week in an interview with GSR. "This is starting to become ... part of the daily business operations."

Oldenburg, who took on the new role in February, oversees digital asset strategy and execution across Morgan Stanley’s institutional wealth and asset management divisions. Her approach looks to integrate crypto and tokenization into the firm’s existing infrastructure rather than treat them as standalone offerings.

"We’ve really come around," Oldenburg said, as crypto, stablecoins, and tokenized assets converge into what she described as "the same ecosystem."
