The decision aims to protect consumers and businesses from rising fuel costs caused by ongoing volatility in global oil prices, particularly following geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.Under the extended plan, emergency measures that were originally set to expire on May 31 will continue through the end of July. The government confirmed that diesel subsidies will remain available, providing refiners and fuel importers with financial support of 1.12 reais ($0.22) per liter starting June 1. Crypto Technical Analysis: Is the selling bias returning to the market?

The last week of May is coming to an end, and the cryptocurrency market is once again showing broad weakness. All major cryptocurrencies closed the week in negative territory, while Bitcoin, the market’s reference asset, also posted a significant decline and reached weekly lows near the $70,000 area.

For now, the selling bias appears to have returned with more strength. Current pressure reflects a lack of demand appetite that could remain relevant for cryptocurrencies over the coming trading sessions.

All major cryptocurrencies posted declines over the last seven trading sessions, reflecting broad short-term weakness. The most affected cryptocurrency of the week was Cardano, with a decline of more than -4.00%, positioning it as the asset with the strongest selling pressure within the observed group. Meanwhile, Ripple showed the highest relative stability, with a decline of around -1.38%. However, the broader market dynamic continues to show a significant loss of appetite in recent sessions.
 

Over the past ten weeks, the crypto market has shown a mixed dynamic, with some cryptocurrencies maintaining medium-term gains while others continue to reflect more consistent weakness. In this scenario, Dogecoin stands out with a gain of 7.2%, positioning itself as the most stable cryptocurrency over the medium term. In contrast, Cardano once again shows notable weakness, with a decline of -10.80%, making it the most affected asset over this period as well.
 

Year-to-date, the market still faces an important challenge, as none of the major cryptocurrencies have managed to trade above their 2026 opening prices. Solana remains the most affected, with a decline of -33.43%, while Dogecoin once again stands out for its relative stability, with a decline of -14.40%. This wasn't just a tactical advance. It was a statement.
What exactly happened?
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz ordered the army to expand its operations in Lebanon, cross the Litani River — which the Israeli military had previously used as a de facto boundary — and capture Beaufort Ridge.  (Middle East Eye) That crossing of the Litani is significant. It marks Israel's deepest push into Lebanese territory in over a quarter century.
Speaking at a memorial ceremony for soldiers who fell in the 1982 First Lebanon War, Katz declared: "Twenty-six years after the withdrawal from the security zone in Lebanon, the Israeli flag is once again flying over the peaks overlooking the Galilee communities. The choice of venue for that announcement was deliberate. The ceremony honoring fallen soldiers of the 1982 war — the very conflict in which Beaufort Castle was first seized — gave the moment a layer of emotional and historical weight that pure military communiqués rarely carry.

$BTC’s subsequent fall to $72,500 raised concerns that the price would slip back into the $60,000 to $70,000 range that $BTC was locked in during February through April, but Cointelegraph's reporting showed spot volumes kicking in to defend the $70,000 support.

Given the sizeable ETF selling, $BTC inflows to Coinbase and futures market liquidations, the spot CVD data above suggests these dip buyers are not dominant.

Open interest heatmap data, on the other hand, does show nearly $300 million of open interest concentrated in the yellow band representing $73,000 to $74,000, where traders appear to have opened new leveraged long positions.

While ETF outflows and redemptions sync with next-day $BTC inflows to Coinbase exchange, and the knock-on effect of this selling is occasional long liquidations in the futures market, Hyblock’s bid-ask ratio metric (set to 10% aggregate order-book depth) shows a modest bid-side dominant orderbook, reinforcing the view that traders view prices below $75,000 as discounted and are buying as a result.

The indicator ranges from -1 to +1, with values above zero indicating an increasing imbalance in the orderbook structure.

The current longs perps and spot buying activity have not been sustainably sufficient enough to reverse the downtrend, but it is helping to absorb the selling and put a floor (or support) beneath Bitcoin price.
