Tokenized RWA has reached a scale of $27 billion. However, only about $2.7 billion has been actively deposited into the decentralized lending market: as collateral, in vaults, or for yield strategies. This article will explore the distribution of these funds, the driving forces behind them, and what this foreshadows for the future.

From Regulatory Clarity to Composable Capital

Three regulatory milestones in late 2025 and early 2026 accelerated the tokenization process. In July 2025, the GENIUS Act established the first comprehensive framework in the U.S. for payment stablecoins, requiring 1:1 asset backing and clear regulation. In March 2026, the U.S. SEC and CFTC jointly classified major blockchain tokens as digital commodities rather than securities.  A few days later, the SEC approved Nasdaq to trade and settle tokenized stocks and ETFs on its main board market.

These milestones further propelled the tokenization process. Stablecoins, serving as the settlement layer for tokenized assets, saw their total supply surpass $330 billion, a 12-fold increase since 2020. During the same period, the number of active stablecoins increased from 31 to 215. Tokenized RWA exhibited a similar trajectory, with its assets under management (AUM) growing 27-fold in two years to approximately $27 billion, expanding from a few initial categories to seven categories tracked on the dashboard (including reinsurance and equities).

In a tweet that is circulating widely, SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci laid out why he believes Bitcoin does not just compete with gold, but outclasses it.

“A dollar bill is made of linen and cotton. But we accept it because we trust it. Over 16 years Bitcoin has built its own trust system – decentralized, no central authority, no single point of failure,” Scaramucci wrote.

Bitcoin ($BTC), which surged on Friday following Iran’s reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, climbed above $78,000.

However, this rise was short-lived. Bitcoin fell again as the US did not lift the blockade despite the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and in response, Iran attacked a US merchant ship.

Bitcoin, which had fallen as low as $73,000, rose again to over $75,000, while Coinshares released its cryptocurrency report stating that there was a $1.4 billion inflow last week.

“Cryptocurrency investment products saw an inflow of $1.4 billion. This marks the third consecutive positive week and the strongest figure since January. With the improvement in risk appetite, Bitcoin surpassed $76,000.”

Bitcoin ($BTC) Continues to Remain Strong!

Looking at crypto funds individually, inflows are concentrated in Bitcoin. $BTC experienced inflows of $1.11 million, while the largest altcoin, Ethereum (ETH), saw inflows of $328 million.

Looking at other altcoins, $XRP experienced an outflow of $56.2 million after strong weeks. Besides $XRP, Solana (SOL) also saw an outflow of $2.3 million, while Sui (SUI) experienced an inflow of $2.2 million and Chainlink (LINK) saw an inflow of $5.3 million.

“Bitcoin saw $1.11 billion in inflows, bringing total inflows since the beginning of the year to $3.1 billion. Breaking above the $76,000 level represents a significant technical development after two months of sideways movement.”

There was a modest inflow of $1.4 million into Bitcoin short positions. This indicates that demand for hedging, albeit limited, continues.

Ethereum experienced its strongest week since January, seeing inflows of $328 million and bringing its total inflows since the beginning of the year to $197 million.

Baghaei went further, saying the blockade amounted to collective punishment of Iranian civilians — language that under international law falls under war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Trump, for his part, told reporters that Iran fired shots in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a serious breach of the ceasefire set to expire Wednesday, April 22.

President Trump tells me Iran has committed a “serious violation” of the ceasefire but he still thinks he can get a peace deal:
