Ethereum merged testnet Kiln is expected to launch next week

2022/03/05 05:06

Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko summed up the results of the latest Ethereum core developer meeting on Twitter, and is expected to launch the merged testnet Kiln next week. Clients such as Nethermind, Go Ethereum and Hyperledger Besu seem to be ready to support Kiln . They will be backwards compatible and released under the 2.1 version of the Kiln meta specs. Clients will still be able to connect to the network using the current v2 specs. In addition, the priorities for the Shanghai upgrade are withdrawals, lower rollup fees and EVM improvements. The meeting also discussed a new EIP-4863 proposal (Beacon chain push withdrawals) that would support validators to withdraw from the beacon chain to the EVM via a new push (rather than pull) transaction type.
