1. Project Introduction
Solar is a decentralized open-source blockchain designed with core blockchain components. It runs on a delegated Proof-of-Stake (dPoS) consensus and is secured by 53 voting representatives who produce blocks and validate transactions. After Swipe was acquired by Binance in July 2020, the Solar blockchain was launched, with its mainnet going live in March 2022. The Solar Blockchain Foundation, established in December 2021 in Estonia, oversees the project’s core goal of creating a thriving blockchain ecosystem.
