Abstract

The supply of euro-denominated stablecoins has grown by $156 million (22.6%) since the start of the year, reaching $848.1 million, according to data from Token Terminal. Over the same period, the supply of dollar-denominated stablecoins saw only a minimal increase of about $159 million, from $298.54 billion to $298.699 billion. Despite this similar net inflow in absolute terms, the dollar market remains vastly larger, holding a 99.5% market share compared to the euro's 0.3%. The euro stablecoin market is highly concentrated, with two assets—$EURC (62.6%) and $EURCV (19.6%)—controlling 82% of the supply. Notably, $EURCV is issued by Société Générale's digital assets subsidiary, SG-Forge, a licensed European banking entity, a structure not seen in the dominant dollar market. Ethereum captured nearly all of the euro stablecoin growth, increasing its market share to 69.4%, while Solana holds 14.7%. In contrast, the overall dollar stablecoin market has remained essentially flat since January, suggesting the euro's growth represents a shift in currency share rather than category expansion. Analysts note the growth is currently driven more by issuer supply under new EU regulations (MiCA) than by strong user demand, as practical use cases for euro stablecoins in DeFi and as collateral remain limited.

According to the latest data from Token Terminal, the supply volume of euro-denominated stablecoins reached $848.1 million as of September 7. Since the beginning of the year, its supply has increased by approximately 22.6%, compared to $691.7 million on January 1. Although the percentage growth itself is not impressive, in absolute terms, the supply volume of euro stablecoins has increased by about $156 million since the start of the year.

Over the same period, the volume of dollar-pegged stablecoins increased by approximately $159 million, from $298.54 billion to $298.699 billion. Interestingly, these two markets are separated by a factor of 350 in size, yet over the past eight months, they have seen almost identical net inflows of new funds.

Despite this growth, the dollar dominates the sector with a market share of 99.5%, while the euro as stablecoins holds second place with 0.3%.

Two Issuers Hold 82% of All Euro Stablecoin Supply

Looking at market capitalization by assets in the euro stablecoin sector, it becomes clear that the distribution is not very broad. $EURC accounts for 62.6% of the market, and $EURCV accounts for 19.6%. This constitutes 82% of the total supply, and the issuers are just two entities. EURI accounts for 4.5%, EURe for 3.9%, while the remaining 22 assets account for less than 6%.

It is important to closely monitor $EURCV here. This asset is issued by SG-Forge, a subsidiary of Société Générale specializing in digital assets, which is authorized by the ACPR to operate as an electronic money institution under MiCA. One-fifth of the entire euro stablecoin volume is now in the hands of a licensed European banking subsidiary. There is nothing like this on the dollar market, where Tether and Circle continue to dominate.

Ethereum Captured Almost All the Growth

Regarding market capitalization growth by blockchain, Ethereum is the leader, increasing its capitalization from $463.4 million to $588.7 million, which is $125 million more than on January 1. The blockchain now holds a dominant share of 69.4% in the euro stablecoin market. Following Ethereum is Solana with a market share of 14.7%, having increased its capitalization from $94.9 million to $124.9 million. Combined, this amounts to $155 million, or essentially all the year's growth.

In the opposite direction, Base's share fell from $73.9 million to $58.7 million. Gnosis's share increased by a few million and reached $22.3 million, while BNB Chain's share rose from $4.1 million to $10.4 million.

New eligible issuances are being placed where institutional liquidity already exists.

Dollar Supply Has Not Changed Since January

At the beginning of the year, the dollar segment volume was about $298.5 billion, and it is now at $298.7 billion, which is 0.05% higher than last year. For a market that expanded in 2025 thanks to the GENIUS Act, eight months without net growth looks more like a period where growth opportunities have been exhausted rather than a pause.

This changes the perception of what the euro metric actually means. Growth is occurring in a stagnant market, making it more of a shift in currency share than an expansion of the category.

Issuance Outstrips Demand

MiCA has provided European banks and licensed EMIs with a legal pathway to issue tokens, and they are doing so. What hasn't appeared yet are reasons to hold tokens in large quantities. Demand for synthetic dollars abroad is huge, and it is what initially created the dollar market. Europeans already hold euros, and euro pairs remain scarce in DeFi lending pools and as collateral for minor violators.

Until this gap is bridged, the euro segment is growing because it is being provided by issuers, not because users are requesting it.

Founders Fund Leads $5 Million Token Purchase of ANVL: What Exactly is This "Non-Lending" DeFi Protocol Doing?

On October 6th, Founders Fund, led by Peter Thiel, invested $5 million to purchase ANVL tokens from the DeFi protocol Anvil's treasury. The round included participation from Pantera Capital and others, alongside angel investors like Compound founder Robert Leshner. Anvil is not a lending protocol. Instead, users lock assets like ETH or USDC into its vault to generate a verifiable on-chain "Letter of Credit" (LOC). This LOC acts as an economic guarantee, proving the user has sufficient locked collateral to back financial commitments, without borrowing funds. The protocol applies this mechanism to use cases like payment guarantees for merchants (via integration with Flexa) and enabling instant deposits for traders on exchanges like Bullish. Anvil's economic model is unique: it charges zero protocol fees. Its native token, ANVL, derives value solely from governance rights over parameters like supported collateral types. The total supply is 100 billion tokens. Despite an 83% price surge on the investment news, ANVL remains down approximately 89% from its all-time high. The protocol's Total Value Locked (TVL) has also fallen about 87% from its peak of ~$109 million in July 2025 to around $14 million currently. The investment represents a strategic bet that on-chain credit guarantees could become a significant category. Key factors to watch include the rate of real enterprise adoption through Anvil's SDK, the long-term sustainability of its zero-fee model, and the broader migration of traditional trade finance needs to blockchain infrastructure.

Mathematical Explosion: OpenAI Overnight Solves 722 Math Problems, Quasi-Riemann Hypothesis Proven

OpenAI has stunned the global mathematics and AI communities by releasing a GitHub repository containing 722 manuscripts addressing 372 previously unresolved major mathematical problem families, all reportedly generated by an unreleased internal AI model. The announcement, made without prior peer review, has provoked both excitement and alarm among mathematicians. The most notable breakthrough claims to be a proof of a "quasi-Riemann Hypothesis," establishing a zero-free region for Dirichlet L-functions with real part greater than 7/8 and eliminating the Landau-Siegel zeros—a significant leap in analytic number theory. The work has reportedly undergone formal verification using Lean. Other highlighted results include: unconditionally proving the NP-hardness of the basic semidefinite programming (SDP) threshold for approximation algorithms, based solely on P ≠ NP and circumventing the Unique Games Conjecture; proving the rational Hodge conjecture for abelian varieties with complex multiplication (CM); and resolving both the symmetric and asymmetric Mahler conjectures in convex geometry. According to OpenAI, most proofs were generated automatically by the model, with an average "thinking" time of just three hours per problem. This unprecedented scale and speed have sparked intense debate about the future of human mathematicians. While some express fear about the concentration of intellectual power, others see it as the dawn of a new era of discovery driven by AI. The mathematical world is now tasked with scrutinizing these claims, which, if verified, would represent historic milestones.

As Midterm Elections Approach, the Real Trade in U.S. Stocks Isn't About Who Wins

With the US midterm elections approaching in early November, political uncertainty has re-emenrged as a market variable. While market participants are weighing potential shifts in congressional control and policy direction, historical data suggests midterm elections themselves are not a definitive negative catalyst for US equities. Since 1937, the S&P 500 has averaged a positive gain of 9.2% in midterm election years, though this lags behind the 13.3% average for non-election years. A more consistent historical pattern is increased market volatility and a tendency for stronger performance concentrated in the fourth quarter, as political uncertainty is resolved. The article, citing analysis from J.P. Morgan and Capital Group, argues that the market's primary concern is policy path uncertainty rather than which party wins. This uncertainty tends to depress markets in the run-up to the vote, with a potential rebound afterward as the political risk premium dissipates. However, the article cautions against attributing market performance solely to the election. Recent midterm years like 2018 and 2022 saw significant market declines primarily driven by factors like Federal Reserve tightening and inflation, not the election outcome itself. The core argument is that the midterm election's impact on markets is often secondary to more fundamental drivers. Regardless of whether the result is a unified or divided government, the market's longer-term trajectory has historically been determined by underlying economic conditions. For the current environment, the key variables to watch post-election are not political labels but the path of interest rates, corporate earnings trends, and whether any actual policy changes materially alter cash flow expectations for businesses. The election may influence sentiment and policy expectations, but the sustainability of any year-end rally will ultimately depend on these core fundamentals of profitability, rates, and economic data.

AI Can't Change 'DNA': How Long Can SanDisk Stay Strong?

**AI Cannot Alter the "DNA": How Much Longer Can Western Digital's Run Last?** This analysis examines the sustainability of the current "super cycle" for NAND flash memory, driven by AI, with a focus on Western Digital (WD). The core argument is that while AI demand has fundamentally shifted NAND's role from a data warehouse to an essential component on the compute path, especially for AI inference, this does not eliminate the industry's cyclical nature. The piece first assesses the supply-demand dynamics. On the supply side, major producers are showing capital expenditure restraint for NAND, prioritizing DRAM/HBM. Capacity growth through 2028 relies heavily on technological upgrades (increasing 3D layers to 300+) and expansion primarily from China's YMTC, rather than new fabs. Global new fab capacity from players like Samsung and WD/Kioxia is concentrated post-2029. This results in estimated bit supply growth (CAGR ~24% for 2026-2028) largely driven by higher per-wafer output. Demand is undergoing a structural shift. AI-related NAND demand (for data lakes, KV cache, and staging) is forecast to grow at a 75% CAGR from 2025-2028, becoming the dominant driver. Data center demand will surpass 50% of total NAND demand in 2026. Consumer demand (PC, smartphone) is being squeezed and is expected to decline or stagnate. A key 2027 demand catalyst is NVIDIA's Rubin platform with its dedicated contextual memory storage (ICMS). The analysis concludes that a supply-demand deficit will persist into 2027. However, 2028 is identified as a potential inflection point where supply (led by YMTC's new fab) could outpace demand, ending the price rally. For Western Digital, the analysis models a more conservative path than management's guidance. It forecasts Average Selling Price (ASP) peaking in FY28 (ending June 2028) before declining in FY29-30 as the market loosens, though supported by long-term agreements (LTAs) and a higher mix of data center products. Consequently, margins and profits are expected to peak in FY28 and then contract. The valuation suggests WD's current price largely reflects a neutral scenario, with limited short-term upside unless the market becomes convinced that prices will remain stable post-2028. The fundamental takeaway is that despite AI's transformative impact, NAND's cyclical "DNA" remains intact.

Understanding Tokenized Real-World Assets and CRMON's Strategic Position Tokenised real-world assets signify one of the most significant innovations in modern finance, fundamentally reimagining how traditional securities are represented, traded, and utilised within digital ecosystems. CRMON operates as a tokenised equity instrument correlating directly with Salesforce stock while optimising accessibility and efficiency. This aligns with Ondo Finance's broader mission to democratise access to institutional-grade financial products through innovative tokenisation strategies. The tokenisation process guarantees complete economic equivalence with the underlying Salesforce equity. The diverse composition of investors reflects broad market confidence in Ondo Finance's business model, demonstrating support from both traditional and blockchain-native organisations. Operational Mechanics and Technical Implementation The operational framework supporting CRMON exemplifies sophisticated integration of traditional financial mechanisms with blockchain technology. The technical implementation introduces multiple layers of security, compliance, and operational efficiency to meet institutional standards while enhancing accessibility. The tokenisation process begins by acquiring actual Salesforce stock through U.S.-registered broker-dealers, ensuring each CRMON token maintains direct correlation with the underlying equity performance. Smart contracts automate operational processes, including dividend reinvestment and corporate action processing, facilitating a streamlined user experience. The Minting and redemption processes allow authorised participants to manage CRMON tokens effectively. During U.S. trading hours, institutions can mint new tokens by depositing stablecoins that are used to purchase corresponding Salesforce equity. This structure maintains a tight correlation with underlying assets, enhancing liquidity and price discovery. Additionally, the infrastructure supports twenty-four-hour token transfer capabilities, providing CRMON holders with operations outside traditional market hours. This represents a significant advantage over conventional securities ownership, thus promoting integration with decentralised finance applications. Plans for cross-chain compatibility through partnerships signal further ambitions for CRMON's market reach. By expanding to other blockchain networks, Ondo Finance aims to enhance accessibility and user engagement with tokenised equity products. Timeline and Historical Development of Tokenized Equity Innovation The timeline of CRMON's development and Ondo Finance's broader tokenised capabilities demonstrates a systematic innovation process beginning with the company's founding in 2021. 2021: Ondo Finance is founded by Nathan Allman and co-founders, launching initial products focused on structured vault offerings on the Ethereum blockchain. 2022: The company completes substantial funding rounds—both equity and token sales—totaling significant capital and launching initial tokenised U.S. Treasury products. 2023-2024: Ondo Finance experiences substantial growth, establishing partnerships with major financial institutions while expanding its product offerings beyond fixed-income securities. Acquisitions, such as Oasis Pro—a registered broker-dealer—significantly enhance Ondo Finance's compliance capabilities, ensuring thorough alignment with existing regulatory structures. The company employs independent verification procedures that foster transparency, aiming for a solid performance standards reputation. Furthermore, Ondo Finance's commitment extends to international regulatory compliance, ensuring token access remains restricted to eligible investors while adhering to pertinent cross-border securities regulations. Comprehensive attention to tax implications and reporting requirements fortifies the security and compliance landscape of CRMON, ensuring that investor obligations remain manageable. Future Prospects and Market Positioning The forward-looking landscape for CRMON and Ondo Finance illustrates substantial growth opportunities driven by institutional adoption of blockchain technology and escalating demand for efficient alternatives to conventional securities ownership. Market projections indicate the tokenised asset sector could value multiple trillion dollars by 2030. With plans to scale CRMON offerings significantly and integrate it with a dedicated blockchain infrastructure—Ondo Chain—Ondo Finance aims to elevate its institutional-grade tokenised asset operations. Additionally, the development of strategic partnerships enhances distribution capabilities while establishing the company's credibility in the financial market. Furthermore, the integration of tokenised equity with decentralised finance protocols offers new potential for innovative financial products and strategies previously impossible with traditional securities. These factors underscore CRMON's positioning to effectively capture increased market share and deliver innovative solutions for international investment exposure.
