XLM price trades at $0.193 on Tuesday, extending its recovery above the EMAs and tilting the near-term bias to the upside. The 50-day, 100-day and 200-day EMAs clustered between roughly $0.180 and $0.190 now act as a rising demand band beneath price, suggesting dip-buying interest on setbacks. 

The RSI holds in bullish territory around 60, while the MACD histogram stays mildly positive with the line above the signal, hinting that bullish momentum remains constructive but not yet overstretched.

On the topside, initial resistance appears at the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement of the latest swing near $0.200, with further hurdles at the 50% retracement around $0.218 and the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level near $0.237. A sustained break above those barriers could open the way toward the descending trendline resistance and the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level in the $0.260 region.

On the downside, immediate support is seen at the 200-day EMA near $0.188, followed by the 100-day EMA at $0.180 and the 50-day EMA around $0.179. A deeper pullback would expose the horizontal floor at $0.177 and the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement near $0.173, where buyers would be expected to defend the broader upturn before the more distant supports at $0.142 and $0.139 come into focus.

Why Emergency Tools Matter In DeFi

DeFi moves fast when things go wrong.

A bug, oracle issue, bad debt event, or market manipulation attack can escalate in minutes. Waiting for a full public governance process is not always realistic when funds are at risk.

That is why many large protocols use emergency roles.

These roles are supposed to pause, freeze, or limit certain functions while the team or DAO investigates. The difficult part is designing those powers so they are strong enough to protect users, but narrow enough that they cannot be abused.

Aave’s proposal sits right in that design problem.

Transparency Versus Security

The public-notice question is the most interesting part.

Bitcoin is trading above $79,000 after US spot ETFs pulled in a reported $730.9 million in a single day last week, their second-largest daily inflows of the year after the $843.6 million they drew in on January 14.

Crypto analysis platform CryptoRus, in its latest market letter, framed this week as a test of whether that institutional buying can push $BTC through the closely watched $82,000 resistance level, something it calls a bullish test rather than a finished breakout.

Three Signals Behind the Breakout Test

CryptoRus pointed to three signals worth tracking. The first is the ETF print itself: Bitcoin held near $80,000 even after a stronger-than-expected US jobs report briefly pressured the market, and the letter reads that resilience as institutional buyers absorbing supply before resistance breaks, though similar spikes have shown up near past market tops.

The second is a leverage reset, with $554.2 million in crypto positions liquidated over 24 hours, $471.4 million of that being shorts and $276.7 million coming from $BTC alone.

“That is real demand. It is not yet a completed breakout,” the letter said, adding that forced short covering can speed up a rally without guaranteeing organic demand sticks around once the squeeze ends.

The third signal is Zcash, which climbed from roughly $40 to above $1,200 over the past year and pushed into crypto’s top ten, a sign that speculative capital is concentrating around a scarcity narrative, with the risk of chasing a parabolic move.

“That strength matters beyond ZEC,” the note stated. “It shows that speculative capital is willing to concentrate aggressively when a narrative combines scarcity, renewed relevance, and crowded positioning.”

In a post on X on Sunday, Gerovich acknowledged that Tokyo-based Metaplanet "had not done a good enough job" of explaining the equity remuneration arrangement known as Series 10 Stock Acquisition Rights. He also described himself as a "significant but non-majority shareholder" of MMXX's parent company and said he played no role in the firm’s trading decisions while Metaplanet investors called for greater transparency.

The controversy dates back to December 2022, before Metaplanet adopted its bitcoin treasury strategy, when the company established the stock rights plan. Instead of granting executives a fixed number of shares, it set a reward pool of 20% of Metaplanet's fully diluted share capital.

After the company’s pivot to buying bitcoin in April 2024, that meant every time Metaplanet sold new equity to add to its holdings, existing shareholders were diluted, while Gerovich’s option entitlement increased.

In August, Metaplanet abandoned the linked reward-pool increase and froze the number of reward shares available at around 320 million. What it didn’t do was roll back the reward pool to where it stood at the time of the bitcoin pivot. The actions highlighted the reward plan and generated online criticism.

“The fix in August was a step in the right direction,” wrote one shareholder pseudonomously known as The Bitcoin Pharaoh on X. “But ‘we can do better’ is a promise about the future, and the questions above are about what already happened. Answer them, name the owners of MMXX, and unwind the pool to where it stood at the pivot.”
