In August, consumers' short-term outlook slipped further into negative territory, according to a Conference Board report. The University of Michigan's latest consumer survey also showed that sentiment worsened due to concerns that inflation would remain high.

$1.2 trillion $DOGE giveaway?
Markus is known for his characteristic humor, and his recent comment about a $1.2 trillion Dogecoin giveaway might be taken lightly.

Ranking as the 11th largest cryptocurrency by market cap, Dogecoin is currently worth $13.24 billion. The coin has a current total supply of 155.88 billion $DOGE (worth over $13.09 billion), with all these coins in circulation, so a $1.2 trillion $DOGE buy might not be feasible, as it exceeds its total supply value.

Although Dogecoin has an infinite maximum supply, a fixed yearly issuance of 5 billion coins prevents excessive supply from flooding the market. This fact supports the narrative of a diminishing inflation rate for Dogecoin, meaning that each year, the rate of inflation decreases relative to the total supply.

Markus' comment might not directly imply a $1.2 trillion Dogecoin buy but rather highlight Dogecoin's diminishing inflation rate property.

Direct payments to consumers are often considered inflationary, according to economists, and may cause prices to rise further, reducing the intended impact of a stimulus check.

The 2011-era coins carried astronomical gains, including a 40 $BTC wallet up over 2.5 million percent; one 6.78 $BTC transfer was tagged with a Coinbase recipient attribution, typically signaling intent to sell.

The moves extend a summer-long trend, following an earlier wave that shifted roughly $40 million in 10 days, with several wallets carrying "Noah Doe" lawsuit tags.

The parade of long-dormant Bitcoin wallets springing back to life is showing no signs of slowing, with at least four more ancient stashes stirring in recent days, one of them apparently headed for a sale.

According to Galaxy Research's blockchain monitoring, the awakened wallets moved a combined 202.84 $BTC, worth roughly $15.73 million, between Aug. 29 and Sept. 4.Myriad: Bitcoin's next price move? Click to make your prediction.

The largest, holding 146.06 $BTC, or about $11.31 million, had sat untouched since November 2013, nearly 12.8 years, and delivered a gain of about 12,902% on a cost basis near $595. A 40 $BTC wallet dormant since November 2011 followed, worth around $3.09 million and up a staggering 2,571,899% from an average cost of roughly $3. That means this patient hodler managed to turn roughly $120 in $BTC into more than $3 million—by sitting on it for close to 15 years.

Two smaller wallets rounded out the batch: 10 $BTC untouched since June 2011, worth about $777,000, and 6.78 $BTC last active in February 2011, valued near $551,000. The oldest coins carried astronomical paper gains, with the 2011-era holdings up more than 2,000% and, in one case, over 500,000% from their original cost.

Chinese Founder Warns About Bitcoin: “Significant Price Movement May Be On the Way”

Jiang Zhuoer, founder of the B.TOP mining pool, stated in his assessment of Bitcoin’s short-term price movements that a significant correction could occur after the liquidation of highly leveraged positions in the market.

According to Zhuoer, in the most likely scenario, Bitcoin will first clear the intense liquidation zone above $76,000. During the same period, Ethereum is also expected to test the liquidation zone around $2,665, liquidating a significant portion of short positions at higher levels.

After Bitcoin cleared liquidity above $76,000, Zhuoer noted that two different scenarios emerged.

In the first scenario, Zhuoer states that if Bitcoin recovers without falling below $75,000, the rally could continue up to $80,000, and he believes the price could even test the strong resistance zone between $83,000 and $84,000. However, according to the analyst, a larger correction could follow such a rise.

In the second scenario, if Bitcoin loses the $75,000 support level, a deeper correction is expected to occur, mirroring the upward movement that began from $64,000. Zhuoer predicts that in this case, Bitcoin could fall to the $70,000-$72,000 region before entering the next phase of the bull market.

Zhuoer added that the expected vote on the bill next week, along with developments from the Fed, will be important catalysts that could determine the direction of the market.

Due to this uncertainty, Zhuoer explained that he is pursuing a more balanced strategy against market direction, holding a full short position in Bitcoin and a full spot position in Ethereum.
