• The total value of USDT frozen due to suspicious or illicit connections has now reached roughly $4.2 billion, with about $3.5 billion frozen since 2023 alone. 
• One of the latest coordinated actions involved nearly $61 million in USDT frozen at the request of the U.S. Justice Department tied to a “pig‑butchering” fraud scheme — a type of scam where perpetrators build trust with victims before tricking them into fraudulent cryptocurrency investments.

Ethereum approached a critical resistance level near $2,147 on the four hour chart, according to data shared by Ali Martinez on X. The chart shows ETH trading inside a horizontal range for several weeks before pushing toward the upper boundary.

This level now acts as a technical decision zone where price momentum may either continue upward or stall.

Price action between mid February and early March shows repeated reactions inside a range roughly between $1,813 support and $2,147 resistance. Buyers defended the lower zone several times. Meanwhile, sellers rejected attempts near the upper boundary. As a result, Ethereum moved sideways while forming multiple short term swings inside the channel.

Crypto negotiators' hopes are bubbling up over the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, the Senate legislation that represents the top-priority policy hope for the sector. The key senators — those who'd dragged their feet over stablecoin yield — are reviewing what seems to be a final take from bankers on what their industry would consider acceptable, according to people familiar with the talks.

After weeks of an increasingly tense relationship between the crypto insiders and the bank representatives who were tasked with hashing out a compromise, this week saw it come to a head with new legislative language circulating from the bankers on the debate over stablecoin rewards. President Donald Trump made an aggressive argument on his Truth Social site that the banks were trying to use the Clarity Act to undermine the stablecoin law that already passed, the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act.

"The Genius Act was the U.S.A.’s first big step to make the United States the Crypto Capital of the World, and getting The Clarity Act done is the next step to finish the job and, most importantly, keep this big and powerful Industry in our Country," Trump had argued, after meeting with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong. "The Banks should not be trying to undercut The Genius Act, or hold The Clarity Act hostage."

Total ecosystem fees climbed to $56 million over the past 24 hours. And yet, this aggregate masks sharp volatility across DEXs, NFTs, and GameFi platforms.

Lending protocols, meanwhile, maintain steadier revenue through persistent borrowing demand. Aave [AAVE] generated $1.62 million in daily fees and $82.14 million over 30 days. At the same time, its $32.4 billion TVL is anchoring liquidity across major lending markets.

Morpho is continuing to expand with about $2.3 million in weekly fees and $7 billion in TVL. Maple Finance has also strengthened institutional credit through real-world asset lending. These models rely on utilization rather than speculative trading volume.

While a major whale recently cut losses after months of holding, broader market data showed that demand has not disappeared, with traders still accumulating the asset on shorter timeframes.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin [BTC] had fallen from a recent high near $72,000 to roughly $67,000. The decline unfolded within less than 96 hours, highlighting a period of heightened volatility and weakening short-term demand.

As the market retraced, several investors began closing positions to limit further losses.
Large holders often reassess positions during sharp market swings, particularly when prolonged holding periods begin to translate into significant unrealized losses.

Data from OnchainLens showed that a major whale acquired approximately $47.74 million worth of Bitcoin in the form of Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) around October, roughly five months ago, when the asset traded near its cycle highs.

The wallet closed the entire position on the 7th of March. The exit resulted in an estimated loss of about $19.62 million, leaving roughly $26.51 million in value after the liquidation.

Such moves often attract attention across the market because whales control large pools of liquidity. Their decisions can influence sentiment, particularly when they exit during declining price conditions.

In many cases, traders interpret these exits as signals that additional downside could remain in the short term.
