The $XRP Ledger marked a milestone with the first cross-border, cross-bank redemption of tokenized U.S. Treasuries. Bitmine buys ‘attractive’ Ethereum dip despite ETH’s 12.6% pullback – Here’s why

Bitmine Immersion Technologies, the world’s largest Ethereum [ETH] treasury firm, took advantage of the recent ETH price dip. 

On the 18th of May, the firm reported that it now holds 5.28 million ETH, worth $11.2 billion at current market prices. This followed last week’s acquisition of $153 million worth of ETH (71,672 tokens). Commenting on the latest buying spree, Tom Lee, Bitmine’s chairman, said, 

We view the recent pullback of ETH to below $2,200 as an attractive opportunity. Bitmine is expected to reach the ‘alchemy of 5%’ sometime in 2026.

The firm is targeting 6 million ETH and has already reached 87% of that goal. Currently, Bitmine has staked 89% of its holdings, 4,712,917 ETH valued at $10.3 billion. Furthermore, Lee is positioning the firm to bet on the tokenization and AI agents’ boom. According to him, Ethereum will serve as an infrastructure layer for these two themes, and ETH will be the ultimate winner. 

However, as of writing, ETH appeared at the crossroads, with analysts expressing conflicting outlooks.

PI is up by nearly 2% as bulls attempt to push the price above $0.1500.

The ongoing token unlock could still put further pressure on the coin.

Pi Network (PI) has been one of the worst performers among the leading cryptocurrencies in recent days.

The coin is down 12% in the last seven days, underperforming compared to the broader crypto market. However, it has slightly bounced back after adding 2% to its value since Monday.

PI is now trading at $0.1507 on Tuesday, thanks to the outflows from Centralized Exchanges (CEXs).

Despite that, PI could continue to face selling pressure as the mainnet migration surpasses CEX withdrawals.

Data obtained from PiScan reveals that 2.55 million PI tokens left exchanges over the last 24 hours, a figure that typically signals a surge in buying activity.

While the outflow to CEXs will reduce selling pressure on PI, it is still not enough to absorb the migration tokens.

Migration statistics reveal that 4.36 million PI tokens were transferred from testnet to mainnet on Tuesday, enabling holders to deposit this unlocked supply on CEXs.

This latest development comes after 7.65 million PI tokens were migrated on the previous day.

The PI/USD 4-hour chart remains bearish and efficient despite PI adding 2% to its value in the last 24 hours.

The short-term recovery might not hold as the selling pressure is currently outweighing the demand.

Momentum indicators reinforce this pressure, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovering just above oversold territory near 34.

PI’s Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line on the 4-hour chart also remains slightly negative below the zero line, adding further confluence to the bearish narrative.

If the sellers continue to dominate, PI could drop below the $0.1500 and test the support levels at $0.1440 and $0.1345 in the near term.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency ever created and is still the most widely recognized digital coin available today. Its market capitalization sits around $1.33 trillion, far above runner-up Ethereum, which has a market value of roughly $233 billion.

At its core, Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency. That means it operates on a peer-to-peer network instead of being controlled by a government, bank, or other central authority. It lets you transfer value straight to another person without using a financial middleman.

Many investors are drawn to Bitcoin because they see it as a potential hedge against inflation or simply as a way to add another asset class to their portfolio. Over the past decade, its performance has been massive, often beating the returns of major stock market indices, which helps explain why it has captured so much attention.

However, like other cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin is exposed to extreme volatility and can experience rapid price swings.

Since launching in 2009, Bitcoin’s journey has been anything but smooth. In the early days, software developer and early believer Laszlo Hanyecz famously spent 10,000 Bitcoins on a couple of pizzas; today, those coins would be worth more than $668 million.

Over roughly the last decade, Bitcoin’s price has soared by more than 15,000%. That upside has come with serious risk, as cryptocurrencies tend to be highly unpredictable. Bitcoin has experienced steep drops, at times losing tens of thousands of dollars in value within a few months, but it has also staged similarly dramatic rallies. In 2025, it ended the calendar year about 30% below the all-time high it hit in October of that same year.
