XMR Means Private, decentralized cryptocurrency

Jeonbuk Bank, an affiliate of JB Financial Group, has launched South Korea’s first won-denominated loan program backed by Bitcoin. The product is currently limited to corporate clients, with Bitcoin as the only accepted collateral. The loan proceeds are restricted to business operating funds, covering payroll, supplier payments, and day-to-day operations.

For Korean companies that have been sitting on Bitcoin holdings, this changes the calculation significantly. Until now, accessing liquidity from those holdings meant selling them. In addition, Jeonbuk Bank is offering a different path: borrow against the Bitcoin, keep the position, and use the loan proceeds to run the business.

How the Structure Actually Works?

Jeonbuk Bank does not hold or manage the Bitcoin directly. A qualified virtual asset service provider handles custody, complying with South Korea’s regulatory standards, including ISMS certification and the Virtual Asset User Protection Act. ISMS is South Korea’s government-backed information security management certification. This is essentially a minimum security bar that custodians must clear before handling client assets.

The bank’s role is narrower; it handles collateral valuation and lending, nothing else. Valuation is calculated using a weighted average price drawn from multiple global exchanges, with market volatility indicators factored in to reduce the impact of sharp price swings at any single exchange on how the collateral is assessed.

Moreover, Jeonbuk Bank does not take ownership of the Bitcoin. Instead, the collateral is liquidated through court auction procedures under revised civil execution rules. Also, it allows the bank to recover its claim without directly holding or selling the asset itself. That separation between lending activity and direct crypto management keeps the bank’s exposure clearly defined.

Sky’s $4.4 billion liquidity disclosure shows why USDS cash-outs need a separate bank route

Sky.money reported more than $4.4 billion of stablecoin liquidity in its Peg Stability Module in an Oct. 9 explanation of the conversion mechanism. The PSM gives holders a direct route between USDS, Sky Protocol’s dollar-linked token, and $USDC at a one-for-one rate.

Those measures answer different questions. Token circulation describes the stock of holdings. Conversion inventory describes what a holder can receive on a particular exit route. Fresh external dollar demand concerns money entering from outside the token system.

$GRVT MicroStrategy’s strategy arm has signaled it may be ready to continue buying Bitcoin while investors wait for updated regulatory paperwork. On Sunday, company leader Michael Saylor posted on X that “There’s always room for more orange,” a reference many market participants associate with additional BTC purchases.

Still, an official update via a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission may not arrive until Tuesday. Monday is expected to slow federal operations due to the Columbus Day holiday, meaning filings that would normally be posted sooner could be delayed.

Key takeaways

Saylor’s Sunday post hints at continued Bitcoin accumulation, but timing of any formal disclosure depends on SEC filing schedules around Monday’s holiday.

Strategy reported an Oct. 5 SEC 8-K detailing purchases of 334 BTC for $28.7 million between Sept. 28 and Oct. 4.

Over the same window, Strategy repurchased about 1.77 million shares of its STRC preferred stock for $176.3 million—far larger than the BTC spend in dollar terms.

Analyst notes that capital raised earlier in the year does not automatically translate into immediate BTC buying, since the use of proceeds can include reserves and buybacks.

Tease on X, but the filing may wait

Saylor’s comment on X adds to the expectation that Strategy will keep pursuing Bitcoin as a core treasury asset. While the message is not a formal disclosure, it functions as a familiar signal to investors tracking the cadence of Strategy’s BTC purchases.

For market watchers, the practical question is when the next official record will appear. Any SEC filing that documents new activity is expected to post after Monday’s holiday closure rather than on the day immediately following the social media signal.
