Despite the breakdown, buyers quickly defended the $1.35 region, triggering a modest rebound and forming a sequence of higher lows on shorter timeframes. This suggests dip demand remains active even as the broader trend remains weak.

Price is now compressing between support near $1.35 and resistance around $1.36–$1.37, a tightening range that often precedes a directional move once liquidity builds.

Bitcoin dip may not be over as whales sell into retail buying — a bearish signal
The smart money allocating to bitcoin bought the panic last week. Then it sold the rally to everyone else.

Whales holding between 10 and 10,000 bitcoin accumulated heavily between Feb. 23 and March 3, when bitcoin was trading between $62,900 and $69,600, according to Santiment.

That window covered the worst of the Iran war sell-off and the early stages of the recovery. When bitcoin hit $74,000 on Thursday, those same wallets started taking profit and have since offloaded roughly 66% of what they'd just bought.
Wallets holding less than 0.01 BTC have been steadily increasing their positions as bitcoin slipped back below $70,000 on Friday and into Saturday. That's the classic pattern Santiment flagged as a warning sign. "When retail buys while whales sell, it typically signals that the correction is not yet over," the firm said in a weekend note.

Glassnode data compounds the problem. Around 43% of bitcoin's total supply is now sitting at a loss with every push higher runs into sellers who have been underwater for weeks or months and are looking to break even rather than ride the rally. That's exactly what happened at $74,000, as the bounce ran into a wall of supply from both whales taking profit and holders getting out at cost basis.

Meanwhile, the widely-tracked Crypto Fear and Greed Index fell 6 points to 12 on Saturday, deep in "extreme fear" territory. That's one of the lowest readings since the October crash.

The broader picture is a market that keeps producing impressive intra-week moves that go nowhere on a monthly basis. Bitcoin touched $60,000 on Feb. 6. It touched $74,000 on March 5. It's now at $68,000, roughly where it was three weeks ago.

In an X post, Luke stated that a bull flag breakout is forming on the $XRP weekly chart, with the target being $11. The analyst noted that this is a textbook bull flag after the 8-month consolidation. A pole height measured move points to a rally to exactly $11 while the altcoin could reach $11.20 based on the 1.618 Fib extension.

An $XRP rally to $11 from the current price represents an upside of almost 700%. Luke indicated that such a rally is possible, with institutions also accumulating, a development that shows a “parabolic leg” is incoming. However, it is worth noting that the $XRP ETFs have seen daily net outflows in the last two days as tensions between the U.S. and Iran intensify.
SoSoValue data shows that the funds recorded outflows of $6.15 million and $16.62 million on March 5 and 6, respectively. As a result, the net assets of these $XRP ETFs have dropped below $1 billion. The altcoin, alongside the broader crypto market, is currently facing downside pressure, with the U.S.-Iran tensions pushing oil prices to multi-year highs.

Crypto analyst CasiTrades predicted that $XRP could drop to as low as $0.87, as it remains below the $1.67 resistance level. Crypto analyst Egrag Crypto also stated that $XRP could drop to as low as $0.85 after facing rejection at the $1.55 level.

Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin has been ordered to halt its operations in Dubai after regulators determined the platform was operating without the required authorization.

The action was announced Thursday by Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), which stated that KuCoin does not hold a license to provide virtual asset services in or from the emirate.

Dubai Bars KuCoin From Offering Services To Residents
In its public alert, VARA said that any virtual asset-related activities conducted or promoted by the exchange in Dubai are in violation of the authority’s regulations.

The regulator emphasized that under Dubai Law No. (4) of 2022 and UAE Cabinet Resolution No. 111/2022, all virtual asset service providers must obtain proper licensing to legally operate in the jurisdiction.

According to Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, KuCoin does not meet those legal requirements and is not authorized to offer any virtual asset services to residents of Dubai.

The regulator also warned that engaging with companies that fail to comply with VARA regulations, associated rulebooks, and broader UAE legislation could expose users to significant financial harm, as well as potential legal consequences tied to regulatory or even criminal violations.

VARA further clarified that any promotion, marketing, or solicitation connected to KuCoin has not been approved by the authority. As a result, the exchange is not permitted to advertise, promote, or offer virtual asset products or services within Dubai or to its residents.

Regulatory Scrutiny Intensifies
The warning from Dubai comes amid broader regulatory scrutiny facing KuCoin in other regions. In Europe, Austria’s financial regulator recently restricted the exchange’s European arm from conducting new business and onboarding additional customers.
