US inflation ticked up to 3.0% year over year in September, and futures markets still price a Federal Reserve rate cut next week.

Headline CPI printed 3.0% on the year and 0.3% on the month, while core CPI held at 3.0% year over year and 0.2% month over month. Gasoline rose 4.1% on the month and shelter inflation stayed near 3.6%. The Bureau of Labor Statistics published on schedule to meet Social Security cost-of-living timelines despite the shutdown backdrop.

Rates traders barely shifted course after the report.
CME Group's FedWatch shows futures place the probability of a 25 basis point move at the October 29 FOMC above 90%, taking the target from 3.75% to 4.00% today toward 3.50% to 3.75%.

Beyond the immediate meeting, the same FedWatch distribution puts the center of the path near 3% by this time next year.

Polymarket US Hits $761 Million Cumulative Notional Volume

Polymarket US, run by QCX LLC as a CFTC-designated contract market, has $761.59 million in Cumulative Notional Volume with transactions surpassing 5 million. Yesterday also saw the highest number of unique tickers traded on the app, about 524. Open interest currently stands at $1.42M, down from a peak of $2.6M.

Polymarket was barred from U.S. users following a 2022 CFTC settlement. In 2025, it acquired regulated entity QCEX for $112M, securing approval for a beta relaunch later that year. Full U.S. rollout accelerated into early 2026, with pent-up demand from American bettors driving rapid adoption once access reopened.

In October 2025, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, announced a strategic investment of up to $2 billion in Polymarket, giving the platform strong institutional backing and market credibility.

This influx of capital, combined with clear regulatory approval following the QCEX acquisition, directly fueled the surge in trading volume and user adoption observed in early 2026 across politics, crypto, sports, and geopolitics markets.

While buyers have recently pushed the asset higher, the $72K zone continues to act as a key resistance level, limiting upward momentum as traders evaluate both macroeconomic conditions and on-chain signals.

Amid this technical battle, new research from CryptoQuant analyst XWIN Research Japan highlights a notable shift in Bitcoin’s long-term valuation metrics. The report focuses on the Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratio, a widely used on-chain indicator designed to evaluate whether Bitcoin is trading above or below its historical cost basis.

The MVRV ratio compares Bitcoin’s market capitalization with its realized capitalization, which represents the aggregated value of coins based on the price at which they last moved on-chain. By analyzing this relationship, the indicator helps determine whether the average investor is currently holding unrealized profits or losses.

According to the latest data, Bitcoin’s 365-day MVRV ratio has fallen to levels similar to those observed in late 2022 following the collapse of the FTX exchange. During that period, intense market stress pushed many investors into unrealized losses, compressing average returns well below historical norms and marking one of the most difficult phases of the previous market cycle.

MVRV Patterns Suggest Possible Undervaluation Phase
The CryptoQuant report notes that previous periods of depressed MVRV readings have often preceded strong recoveries in Bitcoin’s price. After the sharp market stress that followed the FTX collapse in late 2022, Bitcoin entered a similar valuation zone. In the three months that followed, the asset rallied roughly 67%, marking the beginning of a broader recovery phase.
