In an analysis shared by Chen on the social media platform X, it was stated that Bitcoin's recent rise was largely due to a decrease in supply on exchanges and increased demand in the spot market. However, according to the analyst, this rise may become more difficult as it approaches significant technical resistance zones.

According to Chen, the first critical level is $74,000. This price is considered a strong resistance level because it falls within the Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) range, a frequently used indicator in the crypto market. The analyst emphasized that overcoming this level could be more difficult in an environment where a bearish trend has begun in the market.

The second major resistance point is indicated as $78,880. This level is said to correspond to the average cost price of long-term investors. According to the analysis, long-term investors hold approximately 2.42 million BTC, and the current demand level seems unlikely to absorb this size of supply in a single upward surge.

Introduction

Everyone agrees that stablecoins are booming. Their circulating supply has more than doubled, and adjusted trading volume has more than tripled. All of this has happened in just two years. Last month, stablecoin monthly adjusted trading volume hit an all-time high. Some are dismissive of these figures, while the cryptocurrency Twitter community (CT) is jubilant.

But numbers alone don't tell the whole story. Equally important is the context in which this growth is occurring—who is using stablecoins, for what purposes, and whether usage patterns are changing. Allium generously gave us an early look at their latest report on stablecoin infrastructure, "Stablecoins: The Rise of New Payment Channels." This report is worth reading because its charts show that stablecoin usage is shifting from enabling low-cost cross-border remittances to supporting general business activities and inter-enterprise supplier payments.

Most of the current debate surrounding stablecoins centers on whether they are financial products (such as narrowbanks, government bond packs, yield instruments) or simply payment infrastructure.  Discussions about the future of stablecoins at the policy level are all based on the premise that stablecoins are primarily financial instruments. However, data in the report suggests otherwise. Recent stablecoin transaction activity is increasingly resembling a payment channel rather than a savings product.

This mirrors the development pattern of Automated Clearing House (ACH) networks: from replacing paper checks in payroll to becoming the backbone of infrastructure for general business, B2B payments, and consumer bill payments.
