Bitcoin has started the month in positive territory, rising about 4.63% after closing the previous five months in the red. Amid this recovery, veteran trader Peter Brandt shared a chart showing Bitcoin moving inside a long-term curved channel that has guided its price trend for years.

Within that structure, Brandt pointed to a smaller curved formation now developing, which he calls the “Little Banana.” This pattern is forming inside a much larger arc that he refers to as the “Big Banana.”
According to Brandt, this setup usually appears when price moves sideways within a broader upward trend before the next major move begins. 

His chart also points to repeating phases of roughly 52 weeks, where Bitcoin often shifts from consolidation into a stronger expansion period.

Three deals last February ate up nearly half of all the money raised in crypto that month. Just three. That single fact tells you more about where crypto funding stands right now than the headline numbers do.

A Shrinking Pool Of Big Bets
According to data from research firm Messari, total crypto fundraising climbed almost 50% in the 12 months ending March 2026 compared to the year before.

But the number of individual deals fell 46% over the same period. Fewer rounds. Bigger checks. The average deal size hit $34 million — a 272% jump from a year earlier. The number of active investors dropped by about a third, down to 3,225.

Those three February standouts were Tether’s $200 million investment into online marketplace Whop, a $75 million Series B for sports prediction platform Novig led by Pantera Capital, and a $70 million Series B for ARQ, a Latin American fintech app built around stablecoins, backed by Sequoia Capital. Together, they accounted for 44% of the close to $800 million raised across the entire month.

Messari describes the pattern as capital concentration driven by late-stage and strategic mega-rounds. A handful of well-positioned companies are pulling in enormous sums while smaller players scramble for scraps.

Early-stage fundraising, reports say, remains active but scattered. Messari pointed to Interstate’s $1.5 million round, which pulled in more than 15 backers — a mix of firms like Bloccelerate VC and individual angel investors. That kind of fragmented, small-dollar activity is happening in volume. But it exists in a different world from the mega-rounds grabbing the headlines.

Pine Analytics explains that Tradexyz has seen two big waves of trading in the past month. The first major surge in activity was fueled by silver price moves on January 12 and saw prices jump from $85 to $114 in less than two weeks before falling back to $80. This extreme volatility prompted significant retail participation, and the maximum trading volumes for silver contracts on Tradexyz were $460 million on weekends and $4.67 billion on weekdays.

Next, the second surge occurred after the US-Israel vs. Iran conflict began on February 28, which was a weekend, when traditional crude oil markets were closed, prompting traders to move to decentralized platforms, thus Hyperliquid/tradexyz recorded $630M in weekend volume. Blackstone-owned AirTrunk secures record $1.24B loan for Tokyo AI data center

Hyperscale data center operator AirTrunk has secured a 191.6 billion Japanese yen ($1.24 billion) green loan to refinance and expand its TOK1 data center campus in the greater Tokyo area, marking what it described as the largest data center financing completed in Japan.

The loan will support the next development phases of the TOK1 campus, which is designed to scale beyond 300 megawatts (MW) of capacity, the company, which is owned by a consortium led by Blackstone and CPP Investments, announced on Tuesday. The expansion is intended to meet rising demand for cloud services and AI infrastructure as Japan ramps up investment in digital computing capacity.

“Japan is one of the world’s most important cloud and AI markets, and we’re committed to building the digital infrastructure that enables its long-term growth,” AirTrunk founder and CEO Robin Khuda said.

AirTrunk has already begun construction to add more than 100 megawatts of IT load at the facility to address near-term demand from cloud and technology customers, per the announcement.

Consortium of 12 banks backs AirTrunk

The financing was arranged by a consortium of banks led by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), MUFG, Crédit Agricole CIB and Société Générale. In total, 12 lenders participated in the deal as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners.
