However, on-chain market data reveals that the way supply is shifting between long-term BTC holders (LTHs) and short-term BTC holders (STHs) throughout the current cycle is clearly changing.

Darkfost, in a post on X, highlighted that this transfer of supply between the two groups has not occurred in the ongoing cycle the same way it did in previous cycles. As prices rise, long-term investors have historically transferred their holdings to more recent market players during significant bull market periods.

This trend suggests a major reset in the initial market structure of Bitcoin, where supply is equally controlled by short-term and long-term holders. Moving on, the expert stated that the first key thing to remember in the current cycle is that long-term holders still hold the majority of the BTC supply.

Rather than witnessing a rapid decline in LTH-held supply as Bitcoin nears the conclusion of its cycle, this time the process took a different turn. As of Sunday, these key investors represent roughly 79% of the total BTC supply.

The development is similar to that of the 2021 cycle, where the share of supply held by long-term holders fell from 82% to 70% in a space of 6 months. A major trigger is the insufficient liquidity from short-term holders to absorb the selling pressure from long-term investors.

Bitcoin Power Law chart creator Giovanni Santostasi has added a new layer to one of crypto’s most durable valuation models.

The chart shifts attention to Bitcoin's movements away from the trend line, with a field of green and red rays that track Bitcoin’s 10-day local growth rate in log-log space against the long-run power-law curve.

For years, the Bitcoin Power Law was mostly shown as a time-based price corridor, with attention fixed on whether spot traded above, below, or near the trend line. Giovanni’s latest version shifts the focus to motion.

In Giovanni’s framing, each ray is a direct measurement of Bitcoin’s local growth rate in log-log space, with angle and length encoding slope. Green marks periods when the price grows faster than the long-run power law, while red marks slower growth or decline.

With 10-day averaging, the chart reads less like noise and more like a vector field around Bitcoin’s long-run power-law attractor.



CryptoSlate’s earlier coverage treated the power law as a framework that could point to six-figure valuations while also warning that it did not encode broader market forces.

Recently, we sharpened the falsifiability question, noting that a prolonged stall near the high-$60,000s would eventually put the model’s rising floor under direct pressure.

In 2026, the live debate is whether the model still helps explain Bitcoin after U.S. spot ETFs, tighter macro linkages, and rising mining difficulty changed the market’s plumbing.

As the crypto market moves into the first week of March, several altcoins are beginning to display notable technical setups that could attract increased trader attention. With market sentiment gradually improving and momentum in the altcoin, a handful of projects are emerging with strong price structures.

Thus, BeInCrypto has analysed three such altcoins that the investors should keep an eye out for as the third week of March begins.

River ($RIVER)

$RIVER has broken out of a cup and saucer pattern this week, a technically significant development for the altcoin. This formation projects a 192% rally toward the $43 target. The breakout signals a major structural shift, placing $RIVER among the most technically compelling setups in the current market environment.

Securing $24 as a confirmed support level is the critical next step for sustaining the breakout. A successful hold above that floor would position $RIVER for a climb toward $36 in the near term. Clearing that intermediate resistance would then open the direct path toward the $43 pattern target.

Profit-taking at current elevated levels poses a genuine reversal risk. Selling pressure could push $RIVER below $24, triggering a correction toward $18.
