Dogecoin is on the verge of reclaiming $0.10. The DOGE price today currently stands at about $0.098. At this price point, it would be tempting to say that it is almost there. However, the gap between $0.10 and $1 is wide. Nevertheless, some analysts are not dismissing it in 2026. But, they are explicit on the conditions that must be fulfilled first.

The first condition is Bitcoin. DOGE price prediction models consistently show DOGE performs best when Bitcoin is running. The recent recovery between $67,000 and almost $71,000 brought meme coins a temporary lift. This lift also influenced Dogecoin during the selloff as the market saw the memecoin defend the $0.088 support level. That's encouraging. But DOGE needs Bitcoin to sustain momentum, not just bounce.

The second condition is a short squeeze. Dogecoin news from the derivatives market shows a dense cluster of short positions sitting between $0.10 and $0.11. If buying pressure pushes DOGE into that range fast, those shorts get liquidated and price spikes higher. A sweep toward $0.11 is plausible. It won't confirm a bull trend, but it removes significant overhead resistance.

The proposal suggests temporarily reducing transaction data limits in order to slow the growth of blockchain data and prevent network bloat.
Supporters believe this step is necessary to keep the blockchain efficient and protect network resources. However, Back strongly disagrees. He argues that the proposal creates bigger risks than the problem it aims to solve. According to him, BIP-110 lacks broad community agreement and could even lead to a serious issue where certain unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs) become unspendable, potentially freezing some users’ funds.

Even if the proposal is rejected, experts expect the discussion about blockchain data usage to continue. Bitcoin rose over the weekend as escalating tensions in the Middle East pushed oil prices sharply higher, prompting investors to assess the potential spillover into global markets.

The world’s largest crypto traded at about $72,950 on Sunday, up roughly 2.5% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data.

The move came after a volatile weekend that saw Bitcoin briefly dip toward $70,500 before rebounding as traders digested the latest geopolitical developments.

With oil markets now focused on the risk of disruptions to energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz, traders across asset classes are watching closely for signs that the conflict could widen and spill into broader financial markets.

Crude oil jumped roughly 3% on Sunday night, climbing to around $100 a barrel, and marking its highest level since July 2022, as the conflict involving Iran entered its third week following U.S. strikes on military facilities on Kharg Island, a key hub for the country’s oil exports.

In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, President Donald Trump said U.S. Central Command had conducted “one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East,” targeting military sites on the island.

Trump said the U.S. had deliberately avoided striking Iran’s oil infrastructure but warned that the decision could change if Iran interferes with shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow corridor that carries roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply.

Kharg Island handles about 90% of Iran’s oil exports, making it one of the most strategically sensitive pieces of energy infrastructure in the region.

Crypto broker Bitpanda bets on banks and tokenization to expand globally ahead of IPO plans

Vienna, Austria-based crypto broker Bitpanda is leaning into a strategy it has been quietly building for years: keep its retail business anchored in Europe while expanding globally by supplying crypto infrastructure to banks and financial firms.

The company’s next phase of growth will focus less on raw user numbers and more on geographic reach, Vishal Sacheendran, vice president of global markets strategy and operations, told CoinDesk in an interview.

"It’s about having a footprint in more markets," Sacheendran said.

That expansion is building on its steady growth. The company, which boasts more than 7 million users, reported this week €371 million ($430 million) in adjusted revenue for 2025, up 16% from the previous year, while its registered user base increased 25% to 7.4 million.

The firm is also weighing a public listing. Bitpanda is reportedly preparing for a potential IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as early as the first half of 2026, targeting a valuation between EUR 4 billion and EUR 5 billion. The plan comes as multiple crypto exchanges and infrastructure firms have either gone public or are planning to do so.
