SHIB Derivatives See 1,549% Jump in Netflows: Is Short Squeeze Brewing?

$SHIB rose 1,549% in future netflows as traders adjust positioning in the market. Shiba Inu saw more futures inflows than outflows in the last 24 hours, with a 1,549.47% futures netflow jump.

The rise in futures netflows remains significant as it might indicate an increase in margin inflows as traders add to positions amid increased risk appetite.

CoinGlass data records $14.25 million in Shiba Inu futures inflow, while outflows came in at $13.80 million. The net difference yields a positive netflow of $446,810, resulting in a netflow increase of 1,549.47%. The rise in netflow comes as prices drop in the market, with Shiba Inu falling as a result.

At the time of writing, $SHIB was down 2.66% in the last 24 hours to $0.00000592 amid a broader sell-off, which saw $203 million in liquidations.

Shiba Inu rose for five days at a stretch from a low of $0.00000528 on March 9 to reach $0.00000063 on Friday before retreating. Shiba Inu fell to a low of $0.00000585 early Saturday as short sellers added to their positions.

However, with on-chain indicators flipping positive, shorts may get squeezed if buyers return to the market to continue the $SHIB price rise, but a break of the $0.00000627 barrier, which matches the daily MA 50, is required first.

Potential scenarios

The daily RSI is at 50 or neutral, which suggests the possibility of sideways trading as the market seeks stability from a multi-month sell-off, which pulled major cryptocurrencies, including $SHIB, to multi-month lows.

Altcoins have sharply underperformed recently, with major cryptocurrencies down significantly from their peaks. Likewise, mentions of an "altseason" on social media have plunged to their lowest level in at least two years.

SEC drops fraud case against BitClout founder Nader ‘Diamondhands’ Al-Naji

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has agreed to dismiss its civil fraud lawsuit against Nader Al-Naji, the founder of the BitClout blockchain project, now DeSo, according to a joint stipulation filed this week in the Southern District of New York.

The SEC originally filed the lawsuit in July 2024, accusing Al-Naji of conducting an unregistered securities offering through the sale of BTCLT, the native token of BitClout.

Al-Naji allegedly marketed BitClout as a decentralized project with no central operator, even launching the platform under the pseudonym “Diamondhands.” The SEC claimed that despite these claims, he maintained control over token issuance, pricing, and the treasury wallet holding investor funds.

The complaint also alleged that Al-Naji misused investor funds, spending millions on personal expenses, including luxury housing and transfers to family members, while publicly stating that treasury funds would not be used for personal compensation.

In the joint stipulation, the SEC said it reevaluated the evidentiary record and circumstances of the case and decided dismissal was appropriate. The parties agreed to dismiss the litigation with prejudice for the conduct alleged in the complaint.

Al-Naji founded BitClout in 2021 as a decentralized, Twitter-like platform where users could invest in tokens representing social influence. The project received funding from top venture investors such as a16z, Sequoia, and Coinbase Ventures.

After facing criticism for scraping user data and questions about its decentralization, as well as legal challenges, the platform was renamed DeSo (Decentralized Social).

Prior to BitClout, Al-Naji launched Basis, an algorithmic stablecoin project that secured more than $133 million from prominent investors, including Bain Capital Ventures

Dogecoin’s price structure shifted after the token moved above the upper boundary of a multi-month descending channel.

The pattern had controlled DOGE’s downtrend since late 2025, repeatedly forcing lower highs while sellers dominated market structure.

Recent price action showed DOGE stabilizing near $0.095 after bouncing from the $0.0877 support zone.

The rebound then pushed price through channel resistance.

That move weakened the earlier bearish structure and opened the door to a potential recovery phase.

I was having coffee with friends from Stanford the other day, and the topic of cryptocurrencies came up.

This kind of conversation is quite typical: VCs, engineers, entrepreneurs, and a few veteran players. A young man suddenly said:

"Crypto is finished now because it was too ruthless in its exploitation of investors."

Many people at the table nodded. Next to me sat a veteran OG who had been in the crypto world for over a decade; he hadn't said a word.

Hearing this, he smiled, put down his coffee, and said:

"Crypto's downfall actually had little to do with exploiting investors." Everyone was a little surprised. Because the mainstream narrative now is almost always: project teams were too greedy, exploited investors too much, and ruined the market.

The veteran OG shook his head and said:

"Exploiting investors has never been the problem; the financial market has been doing that for centuries. The real problem is—the underlying logic was wrong."

He said Cryptocurrencies had at least a few problems.

The veteran OG then told a rather interesting story.

 He said he sometimes asks people working on projects, "Have you read the Bitcoin whitepaper?"

Many say they have. But if you follow up with, "What's the most crucial word in it?" most will say:

Decentralization.

He immediately shakes his head, saying, "The word 'decentralization' doesn't even appear in the whitepaper." Someone at the table checks on their phone, and indeed, it's not there.
