XRP Searches Drop 90% on Yearly Scale in Google Trends

The mass retail investor has temporarily cooled toward $XRP, shifting into a deep wait-and-see mode. According to Google Trends, by mid-October 2026 global search interest in the coin had corrected by more than 90% on an annual scale compared with the historical peak of July 2025, when the price was storming the $3.65 mark.

The global popularity index for the query slid to 13 points out of 100, marking the sharpest shift in market sentiment.

The published charts clearly illustrate this dynamic. If the historical curve is unrolled from 2012, the phenomenal surge of mid-2025 looks like an isolated peak, before and after which traffic literally sits at zero.

The statistics for the past 12 months on an annual scale only confirm the trend: search query volume has fallen by exactly half, and the local spike in activity in August–September had faded completely by mid-October.

People are searching for the coin less, but they are not rushing to sell
Still, for the crypto market this is classic off-season apathy: search activity for bitcoin is also at multi-year lows right now. In $XRP's case, however, the lull in search engines has created a unique paradox: while small traders have stopped clicking links, the price chart stubbornly refuses to fall further.

The coin's price is squeezed into a narrow corridor of $1.30–$1.34, holding key support around $1.25.

Amid the collapse in Google queries, the derivatives market has fully cleared itself of excess leverage and unnecessary froth. The current silence in search engines scares speculators, but prediction platforms and algorithmic models agree that the psychological bottom of retail interest has been found.

The most likely scenario until the end of October is consolidation in the $1.40–$1.50 corridor.

Uniswap: Leading DeFi exchange with potential upside from governance improvements.

Aave: Revenue-generating lending protocol with strong fundamentals and growing demand.

Many investors search for crypto assets that offer stronger upside than the market leaders. While Bitcoin remains the benchmark, several alternative projects trade at valuations that may not fully reflect future growth. NEAR Protocol, Uniswap, and Aave stand out for different reasons. One focuses on blockchain infrastructure and AI, another dominates decentralized trading, and the third generates meaningful revenue through lending services. These three assets deserve attention as Q4 approaches.

NEAR Protocol (NEAR)

NEAR Protocol has positioned itself around two of crypto’s most important themes: chain abstraction and artificial intelligence. The network aims to make blockchain interactions simpler by reducing the friction involved in moving across different ecosystems. As users and developers increasingly work with multiple chains, that approach could become more valuable. AI also adds another layer to the investment case. NEAR has already introduced initiatives that connect decentralized networks with AI development. Growing interest in AI tools and applications could help attract more activity to the ecosystem. A combination of cross-chain utility and AI infrastructure gives NEAR exposure to two trends that could remain important for years. If adoption continues to grow, current valuations may look attractive in hindsight.

$GRVT Google latest quantum computing technique reportedly cuts relevant error rates by a factor of 40 and reaches 99.9% accuracy, advancing a field whose eventual capabilities could threaten Bitcoin cryptography. However, the result addresses quantum error, which Google’s method still needs to be demonstrated at a larger scale.

This leaves the immediate network threat unchanged, while making the longer-term Bitcoin quantum risk harder to dismiss as a purely theoretical engineering problem. The gap is narrowing, but it remains substantial.

Google’s research targets magic states, a specialized resource used in quantum computation that the primary report says typically consumes about 95% of a quantum computer’s capacity. Improving the reliability and production of those states could ease a major bottleneck in building larger, more useful machines.

Quantum error correction is necessary for a sufficiently powerful fault-tolerant system, but the Bitcoin threat depends on many demanding capabilities working together. The milestone strengthens the case for long-term preparation.

A Google white paper published in March estimated that breaking Bitcoin’s security would require 1,200 to 1,450 logical qubits. These are logical qubits, the error-corrected units needed for reliable computation, not simply the raw physical qubits installed in a processor.
