A proposal circulating in the XRP Ledger (XRPL) community is aiming at one of crypto’s most entrenched trading businesses: options.

The idea is to build a purpose-built XRPL sidechain that feels “Hyperliquid-like,” a venue designed for exchange-grade execution, then connect that activity back to the XRPL base layer through bridging.

In the proposal’s document, Hyperliquid has shown that a dedicated chain can bootstrap deep derivatives liquidity if it gets the execution engine, risk controls, and incentives right.

Ripple Head Engineer Alerts Node Operators on Important XRP Update

In a recent tweet, RippleX Head of Engineering J. Ayo Akinyele alerts $XRP Ledger validators and node operators to a newly released important update on XRPL.

Rippled, the reference server implementation of the $XRP Ledger protocol, got a new release, which Akinyele refers to as an important update with fixes. This refers to $XRP Ledger software version 3.1.2, which fixes an edge case that can cause outages on public facing nodes.

The XRPL version 3.1.2 release follows v.3.1.1, which was an emergency release after the XRPL batch amendment bug was detected.

The RippleX engineer urges validators and node operators to update to rippled version 3.1.2 as soon as possible. This is important in order not to get amendment blocked.

Servers that are amendment blocked cannot determine the validity of a ledger, submit or process transactions or participate in the consensus process.

An amendment blocked server returns an error when a transaction is submitted, necessitating the need to upgrade to the required rippled version to unblock it.

Not only are validators urged to update to the latest XRPL version, they are also urged to trust the new signing GPG key.

A new signing GPG key has emerged since Feb. 18, following the rotation of the GPG key used to sign rippled packages by Ripple. XRPL users are urged to download and trust the new key to prevent issues upgrading in the future as automatic upgrades may not work until the new key is trusted.

Fresh US inflation data just hit the markets. Could it change the short term Bitcoin price prediction outlook?
The U.S. inflation numbers are finally out, and markets are trying to figure out what they mean for Bitcoin price.

The February Consumer Price Index (CPI) came in exactly where economists expected. Inflation rose 0.3% month over month, while the annual rate held around 2.4%.

Core inflation, which strips out food and energy, increased 0.2%, also matching forecasts.

Because the data landed right on expectations, the market reaction has been relatively muted so far. Bitcoin briefly moved higher after the report, climbing from around $69,000 to nearly $69,800 before easing back toward the $69,300 area.

For traders, the bigger story is what the inflation data means for the Federal Reserve. Since the numbers matched forecasts, many analysts now expect the Fed to keep interest rates unchanged at the upcoming FOMC meeting next week.

Interest rate expectations often play a major role in crypto markets. Higher rates tend to tighten liquidity and pressure risk assets, while stable or falling rates usually support investor appetite for assets like Bitcoin.
Bitcoin Price Prediction: Where is BTC Going Now?

From a chart perspective, Bitcoin is still moving inside the recovery structure that started after the bounce from the $60,000 lows earlier this year.

Since that rebound, the market has been forming higher lows along a rising trendline. But one level keeps getting in the way.

The $72,000 zone has been acting like a ceiling. Bitcoin recently tried to break above it but could not hold the move and slipped back below the level.

Right now BTC is sitting just under that resistance while still holding above the rising support trendline. As long as that structure stays intact, another push toward $72,000 is still on

Ethereum Foundation sells 5,000 ether to Tom Lee's BitMine in $10.2 million deal

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) said it finalized the sale of 5,000 ether ($ETH) in an over-the-counter transaction with one of the top crypto treasury firm Bitmine Immersion Technologies.

The sale cleared at an average price of $2,042.96 per $ETH, the Foundation said, placing the transaction’s value at roughly $10.2 million.

The non-profit organization, established in 2014 to support the Ethereum blockchain and its ecosystem, said the funds will support its core operations, including protocol research and development, ecosystem growth, and community grants.

The transactions, it said, are in line with the policy that governs its reserve management. The framework aims to strike a balance between holding $ETH and maintaining sufficient fiat or fiat-like assets to cover operating costs. EF currently aims to keep annual operating expenses near 15% of treasury value with a 2.5-year operating buffer, a strategy that determines how often it sells $ETH.

The sale comes less than a month after the Ethereum Foundation began staking up to 70,000 $ETH to support its operations and deepen its role in the Ethereum ecosystem.

Bitmine, helmed by Fundstrat's Tom Lee, was the counterparty in the deal and is the largest publicly traded ether treasury firm, currently holding around 4.53 million $ETH, worth more than $9.4 billion.

The firm’s portfolio is almost entirely ether. The company also holds around 195 BTC and more than $1 billion in cash, along with equity stakes. These stakes also include a share of Beast Industries, the company behind YouTube creator MrBeast, after a $200 million investment in it, along with a 7% stake in the worldcoin treasury firm Eightco.

Dogecoin [DOGE] managed to defend the $0.088 support level despite the heavy selling pressure the memecoin faced recently. It is likely that the Bitcoin [BTC] bounce from $67k helped shore up the memecoin market sentiment.

AMBCrypto reported that DOGE and other memecoins saw heightened social media engagement. It came alongside a high liquidation imbalance and renewed speculative interest lately.

The long-term trend remained bearish, despite the 15% bounce in five days. The revival at the $0.088 support level, which has been critical over the past month, meant DOGE could climb beyond $0.1 once again.

The Moving Averages remained bearish and could act as resistance to DOGE's rally. The volume indicators also underlined seller dominance.
