Hyperliquid (HYPE) eyes 30% rally as price nears breakout

As the broader crypto market struggles, Hyperliquid [HYPE] remains on the rise and appears poised for a significant price increase. At press time, the asset’s price had risen by more than 6.50% in the previous 24 hours, trading at $36.91.

Along with the price increase, HYPE’s trading volume increased by more than 45% to $451.98 million during the same period, implying that market participants, including traders and investors, are interested in the current trend.

HYPE signals 30% upside potential

In fact, HYPE’s price action tells the same story. According to AMBCrypto’s technical analysis, the asset’s daily chart shows that it is on the verge of breaking out of a strong resistance level at $36.50, which it has been facing since November 2025.

Meanwhile, its recent performance, recording a surge of over 24% in just three days despite current market conditions, suggests that HYPE could easily breach this hurdle and potentially open the door for the next leg up.

Bitcoin holds steady while Hyperliquid quietly steals the spotlight

Bitcoin is doing its best impression of a sleeping giant. The asset has barely moved over the past 24 hours, hovering near $70K with a gain of just 0.1%, while the broader market mood sits deep in “Extreme Fear” territory.

Meanwhile, Hyperliquid’s $HYPE token is on a quiet tear, hitting fresh all-time highs against $BTC and making the kind of move that gets noticed only after it’s already happened.

The numbers behind Bitcoin’s calm surface

On the surface, Bitcoin looks stable. Look a little deeper and the picture gets more interesting.

$BTC’s 24-hour change of +0.1% masks a rougher week. Over seven days, it’s down 3.2%, suggesting the current “hold” is more like controlled bleeding than genuine consolidation.

The Fear & Greed Index reads 18, firmly planted in Extreme Fear. Last week it was 22. In English: sentiment has actually gotten worse, even as price stays flat. That’s the kind of divergence that tends to resolve itself, one way or another.

Ethereum managed a slightly better showing, climbing past the $2,000 mark with a 1.0% daily gain. Solana added 1.3% to trade near $87. Neither move qualifies as exciting, but at least they’re green.

For context, a Fear & Greed reading of 18 is in the same neighborhood as readings from the FTX collapse era in late 2022 and the depths of the 2020 COVID crash. The market isn’t just nervous. It’s approaching historically pessimistic levels while Bitcoin sits near what most would consider a healthy price.

That disconnect — high fear at relatively high prices — is unusual. It typically means traders are bracing for something specific rather than reacting to what’s already happened.

Analyst Explains Why Bitcoin Price Hasn't Bottomed

In an X post, Leshka noted that the Bitcoin price has never bottomed after a drawdown of just 47%. He further remarked that every bear market in history saw at least 78% drawdown from the top. $BTC notably saw drawdowns of around 87%; 84%; and 73% in 2013, 2017, and 2021, respectively.

As such, the analyst declared that the Bitcoin price is not yet at a bottom and that another flush to the downside is approaching. His accompanying chart showed that $BTC could still drop to around $50,000 before it finds a macro bottom in this market cycle. Leshka noted that the leading crypto continues to retest the $72,000 resistance and has failed to hold above it on every attempt. Based on this, he predicted that a drop to $55,000 is next. Crypto analyst Doctor Profit also recently warned that the Bitcoin price hasn't found a macro bottom, though he predicted that $BTC could form a local bottom between $57,000 and $60,000. In the long term, he still expects Bitcoin to drop below $50,000 and into the low $40,000, which he believes will mark the macro bottom.

MARA Recently Opened Door To Bitcoin Sales According to on-chain analytics firm Crypto Quant, mining firm MARA has just made a transfer out of its Bitcoin wallets. The transaction has occurred just nine days after the company said in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it expanded its digital asset management strategy to allow for sales from BTC held on its balance sheet.

Historically, the miner has held onto the BTC that it has mined and purchased additional tokens for its treasury. Last year, however, it changed its strategy to permit sales of tokens generated via its mining operations. The expansion from earlier this month further built on this policy.

Considering that the miner is open to selling Bitcoin now, the latest outflow transaction from its reserve could be significant.

The Open Network has cancelled its Gateway Dubai event scheduled for May “due to the Middle East conflict and safety conditions in the UAE area.”

After the U.S. and Israel launched strikes in Iran, the country attacked the UAE with missiles and drones.
TON blockchain's ecosystem conference set for May in Dubai has been cancelled amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East, the organization said Thursday.

"Unfortunately, due to the Middle East conflict and safety conditions in the UAE area, we have made the decision to cancel Gateway Dubai, originally scheduled for May 1 and 2, 2026," TON posted on X. "This was a difficult call, but the safety and well-being of our community always comes first."

Shortly after the U.S. and Israel launched strikes in Iran, the country attacked the United Arab Emirates with missiles and drones. Dubai, a popular city among crypto entrepreneurs, is the largest city in the UAE.

TON Gateway planned to bring together builders and developers working in the TON ecosystem. Event planners said Thursday they are "examining different formats to produce a Gateway event before the end of this year."
"The UAE has borne the brunt of more than two-thirds of Iran’s strikes; the state targeted in part, say analysts, for its deep military and intelligence partnerships with western powers, and Dubai’s reputation as a favored centre for global finance and western holidays," The Guardian reported Wednesday.

Dubai, along with many other cities in the region, has experienced severe travel disruptions due to the ongoing conflict.

The major crypto event Token2049, also set in Dubai and scheduled for next month, will go ahead as planned, according to Fortune.
