Ethereum treasury companies Bitmine and Sharplink continue to advance their ETH strategy amid the current crypto market downtrend. Bitmine, in particular, continues to accumulate ETH at a steady pace, with the company close to its goal of holding 5% of the token’s supply.

Ethereum Treasury Company Bitmine Adds More ETH
In a press release, Bitmine revealed that they bought 60,976 ETH last week and now holds a total of 4.535 million ETH worth around $8.91 billion. The Ethereum treasury company has also staked just over 3 million of these tokens to generate yields on its holdings. With its latest purchase, the firm now owns 3.76% of the total token supply and is now over 75% of the way to holding 5% of the supply in just eight months.

Bitmine’s Chairman, Tom Lee, noted that they have staked more ETH than other entities in the world. He further revealed that their staking rewards could reach $259 million annually when their total holdings are fully staked. Lee added that they continue to make progress on their staking solution known as ‘The Made In America Validator Network (NAVAN),’ which they plan to deploy in the first part of this year.

The Ethereum treasury company has continued to make weekly ETH purchases despite holding an unrealized loss of almost $8 billion, with an average price of $3,768. Commenting on the current market downtrend, Tom Lee noted that Ethereum prices have shown resilience amid rising war concerns and surging oil prices. “We continue to believe that crypto prices are in the late/final stages of the ‘mini-crypto winter,’ he said.

XRP price is sitting at $1.40, trading inside a symmetrical triangle that has been compressing since the February lows.

The price is coiling tighter between converging trendlines, while the yellow cup formations along the bottom trendline show repeated demand stepping in at lower levels.

The first resistance is at $1.50, and that is the level that needs to flip before anything meaningful opens up, with the $1.61 resistance zone above that being the next serious wall.

A break above $1.65 opens the full target toward $2.20 and beyond.

As it stands, Ethereum now has more than three times as many wallets with balances as Bitcoin, showing that the market might actually be underpricing the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency.

Ethereum’s Holder Base Goes Parabolic
On-chain analytics platform Santiment recently highlighted an interesting trend across the crypto market: Ethereum’s holder base has increased far more than that of any other major digital asset.

The data shows that ETH now has about 182.7 million non-empty wallets, compared with roughly 58.5 million for Bitcoin. That places ETH at more than 3.1 times the number of holders held by Bitcoin, and this gap has been widening steadily for years.

The turning point came in February 2019, when Ethereum first surpassed Bitcoin in the total number of addresses holding a balance. Since then, the divergence has increased, with ETH’s wallet growth curving upward while Bitcoin’s line has climbed at a much slower pace.

Tether, despite its ubiquity as the dominant stablecoin, holds just 12.96 million wallets, making Ethereum’s base more than 14 times larger. Interestingly, other notable altcoins also cannot keep up with ETH, where users are actively adding to positions. The number of non-empty wallets on the XRP Ledger sits at 7.68 million, Dogecoin at 8.22 million, and Cardano at 4.61 million. None comes close to Ethereum.

Solana Surpasses Ethereum in RWA Holders

Solana posted on the X platform that data from RWA.xyz shows the network has surpassed Ethereum in total RWA holders for the first time. SOL currently has 157,112 RWA holders, compared to Ethereum's 153,592. Notably, the Plume network leads all networks with 263,132 RWA holders, despite having a lower total RWA value than both Ethereum and Solana.

Over the past 30 days, Plume's RWA holder count has decreased by nearly 3%, while Ethereum and SOL have increased by 8% and 7%, respectively. Although SOL has surpassed Ethereum in total RWA holders, Ethereum still leads with a total RWA value of $15.4 billion (excluding stablecoins).

The Solana network's total RWA value is $1.8 billion, lagging behind networks like the BNB chain and XRP Ledger (XRPL). Furthermore, Ethereum leads Solana with 675 tokenized projects compared to Solana's 345. The largest projects on Ethereum are Tether Gold, Paxos Gold, Syrup USDC, and BlackRock's BUIDL Fund.

However, it's worth noting that Ethereum and Solana still lag behind Arbitrum in the number of tokenized projects on their networks.
