Users withdrew 47,700 BTC from cryptocurrency exchanges over the course of a week. This figure is comparable to the peaks of 2025, reported CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr.
The peak occurred on March 4th, when trading platforms lost 31,900 BTC valued at $2.26 billion in a single day. Of this, 25,000 BTC were withdrawn from Bitfinex, marking a record outflow for the platform since June 2025.
According to Adler Jr., each day of the week saw more coins withdrawn than deposited.

The data suggests a significant purchase on the spot market. In early March, exchanges received about $1.1 billion in stablecoins. This was immediately followed by a mass withdrawal of the leading cryptocurrency.

The analyst believes investors transferred the assets acquired on the exchange to cold wallets. The average purchase price was around $70,000.

Decreasing balances on trading platforms reduce selling pressure. If the trend of not returning coins continues for another 3-5 days, a phase of sustainable accumulation will be established in the market. This would serve as a bullish signal for the price of Bitcoin, the expert concluded.

In February, investors withdrew 31.6 million ETH from centralized platforms, marking the highest monthly volume since November 2025.

The network requires Mainnet nodes to upgrade to v20.2 by March 12 as part of its path toward version 23.0 in Q2 this year.

Pi Network is testing artificial intelligence workloads on its node network as it moves through a required Mainnet upgrade path ahead of its planned Pi Day DEX launch. The project has ordered node operators to complete the move to version 20.2 by March 12. This step forms part of a broader roadmap that aims to take the network to version 23.0 in the second quarter of 2026.

The upgrade process follows a fixed sequence. Node operators must move through versions 19.1, 19.6, 19.9, 20.2, 21.1, 22.1, and 23.0 in order. Recently, we covered that Pi Network completed its Protocol v19.9 migration and is preparing to roll out v20.2.

As weaker holders exited, demand contraction narrowed sharply from about -136,000 BTC to nearly -25,000 BTC. At the same time, long-term holder selling fell roughly 70% since November 2025, indicating that major distribution pressure has slowed. This reduction in supply allowed the price to stabilize.

Yet broader participation has not returned. Institutional positioning and derivatives activity remain subdued, keeping the Bull Score low. This reflects weak investor confidence and suggests market conditions are still unfavorable for a sustained upward trend.

Therefore, the current rebound likely reflects seller exhaustion and short-term positioning, rather than the start of a structurally supported bull phase.
