The $BTC Spot ETF flows have not done much in 2026 all together.

But I have no doubt that we will see the cumulative ETF flow into the $100B+ region over the next few years.

Whether price is following the same path is a matter of time in my opinion. Every $ these ETFs absorb from larger OG sellers or short term traders, is a more solid and diversified supply & base built for the long term.

2025 was a good example of that. We saw $20B+ of inflows into the ETFs with BTC ending the year just about in the red. Not ideal obviously price action wise, but the fact we did have these inflows and for the coins to have rotated to the ETFs, makes a more solid base in the future. Imagine what price might have done without those flows after all.

Ripple’s [XRP] market narrative increasingly reflects growing participation from traditional finance institutions. Institutional exposure has expanded through spot XRP ETFs launched in late 2025. These investment products have attracted roughly $1.4 billion in cumulative inflows so far.

Assets under management now approach $1–$1.2 billion across disclosed segments. Goldman Sachs leads institutional positioning with about $153.8 million allocated across four ETF products. This figure represents nearly 73% of the $211 million held by the top 30 institutions.

Meanwhile, firms like Millennium Management and Citadel maintain smaller but strategic allocations, which are essential for diversifying their investment portfolios and managing risk effectively. As these products expand, institutional capital gradually deepens market liquidity.

President Trump’s official Solana-based meme coin—TRUMP—has surged in price by about 35% in the last 24 hours following an announcement that top holders will gain access to a new exclusive event featuring the president. 

The token is now changing hands around $3.75, a 40% jump off its recent low mark of $2.73 registered by CoinGecko on Thursday. 

News of the exclusive event, slated to be held at the president’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, has also helped spur significant volume increases for the token over the last 24 hours. 

Volumes registered by CoinGecko point to a more than 4x increase from Wednesday to Thursday with trading numbers breaching $292 million on the day of the announcement, compared to just $72 million worth of trades the day before.
On a rolling basis over the last 24 hours, however, CoinGecko recently showed $1.78 billion worth of trading volume. And on its significant price spike, some traders have seen major gains in the last 24 hours.

A Solana address with no significant on-chain activity in the last five months was flagged by on-chain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence after it was sent 2.2 million TRUMP tokens, valued around over $8 million at present time.

Bitcoin traded in the low $70,000s as the week closed, and market participants pointed to shrinking exchange inventories as one reason price weakness failed to deepen. When large amounts of coins are routed away from easily tradable exchange addresses and into custody services or offline storage, the amount of Bitcoin available for quick sale falls, a dynamic that can give modest buying pressure an outsized effect on price.

Why this 50% threshold matters so much

Less than half of the supply held by short-term holders, that is, investors who entered less than 155 days ago, is currently in unrealized gains. For Glassnode, this blockage reflects a hesitant market. In short, BTC may rebound temporarily, but it still lacks the psychological base needed to trigger a strong recovery.

The Bitcoin market often operates on psychological tipping points. The 50% threshold is one of them. When more than half of the short-term holders return to profit, the mood shifts. Selling pressure eases, and risk appetite returns gradually.

Conversely, when this proportion remains below half, a large part of recent entrants holds losing positions. This detail weighs heavily. These investors are often the most sensitive to volatility. They sell faster, cut losses earlier, and react more strongly to market shocks.
