Neo SPCC adds Authbox credential service in NeoFS S3 Gateway v0.46.0
Neo SPCC released NeoFS S3 Gateway v0.46.0 on Sept. 2, introducing an Authbox service that issues S3 credentials over HTTP alongside routing optimizations, operational improvements, and dependency updates for the S3-compatible interface to NeoFS decentralized storage.

The release follows v0.45.1, which delivered read and write performance improvements in early August, and v0.45.0, which added bucket namespacing and removed legacy features in July.

Authbox credential service

The headline addition is Authbox, a new service that provisions S3 credentials over HTTP. Previously, generating credentials for the S3 Gateway required using the neofs-s3-authmate command-line tool directly. Authbox wraps this functionality in an HTTP-accessible service, making it easier for applications and platform operators to programmatically provision access to NeoFS storage through the S3-compatible protocol without direct CLI interaction.

The feature ships as a new neofs-s3-authmatesrv binary alongside the existing gateway and authmate tools, with prebuilt binaries available for Linux, macOS, and Windows across both AMD64 and ARM64 architectures.

Routing, logging, access key changes

Request routing was optimized to match decoded URL paths rather than raw encoded strings, addressing unnecessary memory allocations that were observed under heavy read load. The change improves both correctness in path handling and resource consumption during high-throughput operations, particularly for object retrieval workflows.

Access key objects are now capped at 64 KB when reading, introducing a safeguard against oversized or malformed key data that could otherwise consume excessive resources. The release also reduces verbose logging output generated by batched operations, cutting log noise for operators running the gateway at scale and making it easier to identify meaningful entries i

Arbitrum gets 10% of Robinhood Chain revenue – Can it fuel ARB’s rally?As an L2 network, Robinhood’s growth has resulted in increased revenues for multiple ecosystems.

In terms of technicals, however, it seems that Arbitrum [$ARB] has benefited the most. The token’s price grew 50%+ in the first week of September, compared to only 1.5% for Ethereum [$ETH]. As one of the networks that provide infrastructure for Robinhood Chain, it is logical that it would capture a significant share of the value created.

The main reason for this lies in the distribution of revenues from the Layer 2 network. Interestingly, 10% of them are allocated to the Arbitrum team, out of which 8% goes to the DAO and the remaining 2% to a developer guild that builds new features for the platform.Given this setup, it’s no surprise that growing on-chain activity on Robinhood has contributed to $ARB’s rally.

As the chart above shows, Robinhood’s income from fees has already totaled a record $19 million this month, which marks a 220% increase compared to the previous month. And since 10% of that goes to Arbitrum, the network is directly benefiting from Robinhood’s rapid growth. This is where the key divergence comes in.

Robinhood Chain is also built on Ethereum; however, $ETH is up just 1.5% this month compared to $ARB’s 50+% rally. This indicates that Arbitrum is capturing much of the upside from Robinhood’s growing on-chain activity, raising the bigger question: with the market betting on an altcoin season, is Arbitrum quietly positioning itself as a leader?

Robinhood could be giving Arbitrum a major edge

Arbitrum’s revenue link to Robinhood appears to be paying off in more ways than one.

In a post on X, Arbitrum declared that $ARB is now available on Solana [SOL] via Sunrise. This means that $ARB has an additional growth catalyst, thanks to its access to the liquidity and user base of Solana’s booming on-chain ecosystem. In other words, $ARB now has access to Solana, adding another catalyst

The $XRP Ledger’s XLS-66d lending amendment has moved closer to the validator consensus threshold required for activation, with active support reaching 71.4%.

The amendment would introduce native uncollateralized lending primitives to XRPL, adding another potential DeFi feature to a ledger best known for payments and settlement. That is a big deal, but it is not live yet.

XRPL amendments need sustained validator support before activation.

The threshold is 80%, and that support has to hold for 14 days. So 71.4% is close enough to matter, but not enough to declare victory.

Why XLS-66d Matters

XRPL has always had a different identity from smart contract-heavy ecosystems.

It is fast, payment-oriented, and built around settlement. That has helped it maintain a loyal user base and clear market position, but DeFi development has often been less central to the XRPL story than it is on Ethereum, Solana, or Avalanche.

A native lending amendment could shift that.

If lending primitives are added at the protocol level, XRPL could support more financial activity directly on the ledger. That could give developers new tools and give users new ways to interact with $XRP and other ledger assets.
Uncollateralized Lending Needs Care

Uncollateralized lending is very different from typical DeFi lending.

Most DeFi lending is overcollateralized. Users deposit more value than they borrow, which helps protect the protocol if they fail to repay. Uncollateralized lending introduces more complexity because repayment depends on credit systems, trust assumptions, identity, underwriting, or other risk controls.
