Record Amount of Bitcoin Moved from Cryptocurrency Exchanges to Cold Wallets! Here Are the Details

In a notable development in the cryptocurrency market, a significant amount of Bitcoin has flowed out of exchanges in the past week. According to data shared by blockchain data and analytics company Sentora, a net outflow of Bitcoin worth a total of $1.68 billion occurred from cryptocurrency exchanges this week.

Analysts note that large outflows of $BTC from exchanges generally indicate that investors are moving their assets to cold wallets for long-term storage. According to Sentora, recent data suggests that Bitcoin continues to be accumulated by institutional custody services as well as individual investors.

In the crypto market, asset outflows from exchanges are often seen as a positive signal that selling pressure may be easing. This is because investors may prefer to hold their assets for longer periods by moving them to secure wallets outside of exchanges, rather than engaging in short-term trading.

According to the data, Bitcoin’s price has also risen in the last 24 hours. Market data shows that $BTC is trading at approximately $73,503 at the time of publication, having gained 4.71% on a daily basis.

Experts say that renewed interest in the market, particularly from institutional investors, could support a recovery in Bitcoin’s price. Accumulations made through institutional custody services are considered part of long-term investment strategies.

The recent downward trend in Bitcoin reserves on exchanges also supports this view. Analysts note that the continued net outflows from exchanges could reduce the supply in the market and, if demand remains strong, could put upward pressure on the price.

Strategy (MSTR) Bought Over 4,000 Bitcoin Today via STRC As Strong Week Continues
Strategy appears to have purchased more than 4,000 bitcoin on Thursday, according to estimates derived from real-time trading data and community tracking dashboards monitoring the firm’s preferred equity sales.

Data from STRC.live and market trackers suggests the purchases were funded through heavy issuance of the company’s Variable Rate Series A Preferred Stock (STRC), a perpetual preferred instrument that Strategy has increasingly used to raise capital for bitcoin accumulation.

By end of day in New York, trading activity implied the firm had already raised enough capital to acquire more than 4,000 BTC, marking the largest single-day bitcoin purchase funded through STRC since the instrument launched.

The surge follows unusually strong activity earlier in the week. On March 10, STRC recorded a record $409 million in daily trading volume while maintaining roughly 3% 30-day volatility and a one-month volume-weighted average price near $99.78.

On-chain indicators and community monitoring suggested that day’s activity funded the purchase of more than 2,000 BTC, already one of the largest one-day accumulations tied to the instrument.
Thursday’s pace easily surpassed that figure.

Strategy, already the largest public corporate holder of bitcoin, has increasingly leaned on its preferred equity program to finance additional acquisitions.

Earlier this year the company amended its at-the-market (ATM) program, allowing multiple agents to sell STRC shares simultaneously. The change increased liquidity in the instrument and made it easier for Strategy to raise large amounts of capital quickly, with proceeds directed toward bitcoin purchases.
