U.S. Spot Solana ETFs are close to hitting $1 billion in inflows, or 2% of their market cap, having debuted last October.

That’s only 18 weeks taken to climb to its current levels.  

In contrast, Brian Rudick, chief strategy officer at Solana treasury firm Upexi, noted that it took U.S. Spot BTC ETFs 55 weeks to reach 2% of their market cap.

In other words, SOL has seen relatively high institutional demand despite a bear market.  
Worth pointing out, however, that BTC ETF flows have mixed institutional players, with hedge funds hunting for basis trade (yield) as major drivers of outflows during risk-off sentiment. 

So, how does that apply to SOL ETFs and the altcoin’s price? 

Institutional bet on SOL: Conviction or speculation?

According to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart, basis trade hunting or institutional speculation is not particularly prevalent across SOL ETFs. 

Unlike last July, when SOL basis trade was a whopping 23%, the yield shrank after the products debuted in October. In fact, the yield dropped to -6% in early 2026, yet overall ETF inflows rose to nearly $1 billion. 

The basis of Solana has been extremely low so far in 2026. This means the Solana basis trade is likely not contributing to the inflows.”

In fact, according to 13F filings with the SEC, institutions controlled 50% of assets under management (AUM), underscoring the massive interest in a young product, Seyffart highlighted. 

Impact on SOL’s price

That said, SOL’s price has been in lockstep with broader market sentiment despite the impressive ETF inflows. Even so, Bitwise found that Spot ETF flows now account for 25% of SOL’s price variance. 

Put differently, a quarter of SOL’s price moves are now directly determined by ETF flows.

A recent project research from Gujarat National Law University advises India to create a clear crypto-asset regulatory framework, proposes a systematic framework for regulation, and provides a thorough analysis of India’s actual stance on crypto-assets.

The project report, titled “Crypto-Assets in India: Assessing the Case for Regulation.” Which was prepared in association with the Society of Indian Law Firms. Meanwhile, the Senior judges, prominent lawyers, policy experts, and leaders of the digital asset sector convened at the launch event to discuss the future direction of crypto regulation in India.

Rising Crypto Adoption in India
The report highlights the extent of cryptocurrency acceptance in India, according to Prof. S. Shanthakumar, Director of Gujarat National Law University, nearly 12 crore Indians are already using crypto assets despite the absence of a comprehensive regulatory framework. He added, “The report ultimately presents five possible regulatory models, leaving policymakers with practical options to consider while shaping India’s approach to crypto regulation.”

Many major economies have implemented explicit crypto-asset laws informed by comparative regulatory models and global policy trends. India established measures and extended anti-money laundering obligations to crypto, but its lack of a clear, comprehensive crypto framework has affected capital flows, industry development, and innovation, as per the report.

Bitcoin just hit the 20 million supply milestone, leaving only 1 million coins left to mine. What's the latest Bitcoin price prediction?Bitcoin just crossed one of the biggest milestones in its history.

The network has now mined 20 million BTC. That means about 95% of all Bitcoin that will ever exist is already in circulation. Only 1 million coins remain to be created.

But guess what, that last million will take more than 100 years to arrive.

Bitcoin's supply schedule was designed to slow down over time. Right now, about 450 BTC are created each day. Over time, that number will keep shrinking until the final coin is mined around 2140.

This milestone goes back to Bitcoin's core idea of absolute scarcity.

Unlike traditional currencies, which central banks can print endlessly, Bitcoin has a fixed supply built into its code.

That predictability is part of the long-term appeal. As the flow of new coins keeps shrinking, any rise in demand can mean positive price action.

Most analysts say the milestone itself will not move the price overnight. The market has known Bitcoin's supply schedule for years.

But it still reinforces the bigger story. Bitcoin remains one of the few financial assets with a supply limit that cannot be changed.

Aave users lose $26M after wstETH oracle misconfiguration triggers liquidations

A configuration incident in Aave’s oracle system triggered approximately $26 million worth of liquidations after the protocol briefly priced wstETH about 2.85% below its actual exchange rate.

The discrepancy caused some leveraged borrowers’ positions to appear undercollateralized, leading to automatic liquidations, according to a new report from Chaos Labs.

The problem came from a mismatch between the snapshot ratio and the snapshot timestamp, the two parameters in Aave’s CAPO oracle system.

The offchain system intended to update the snapshot ratio to reflect the exchange rate from seven days earlier, but an onchain constraint limited increases to 3% every three days. As a result, the ratio could only be partially updated while the timestamp still reflected the full seven-day adjustment.

This misalignment caused the CAPO formula to calculate a maximum exchange rate lower than the actual market rate, effectively pushing the oracle price down.

The event resulted in roughly 10,938 wstETH in liquidations across 34 accounts. Third-party liquidators captured approximately 499 $ETH in combined bonuses and profits, though the protocol itself did not accumulate bad debt.

To mitigate the situation, Aave temporarily reduced the borrow caps, corrected the oracle configuration, and restored the accurate exchange rate.

Since then, about 141 $ETH has been recovered through BuilderNet refunds, along with around 13 $ETH in liquidation fees, which will be used to help compensate affected users. The DAO treasury will cover any remaining shortfall.

Shah said that the West could begin producing oil routed from India and other countries. “Russian supply remains the ultimate wildcard in this equation; as prices climb, the incentive to reroute that crude through alternative channels like India becomes impossible for the West to ignore, as evidenced by the recent 30-day US waiver,” the expert added.If the West begins to buy Russian oil from other channels, it would be a reversal of the previous policies. However, no country in the West has publicly made an announcement on this matter.
