Accordingly, Litecoin founder Charlie Lee claimed in a recent interview that anonymous creator Satoshi’s $BTC would be the first target of quantum attacks.

Lee stated that while Satoshi’s identity remains unknown, the more than one million $BTC he is believed to hold are most vulnerable to such attacks because they are not properly protected.

Lee added that if quantum computing becomes a reality, Satoshi’s Bitcoins would likely be among the first to be hacked.

Lee stated that Satoshi is estimated to own approximately 1.1 million $BTC, and that these $BTC are stored in P2PK addresses, which could make them more vulnerable to quantum attacks.

However, Lee added that current quantum computing technology is still significantly insufficient to break Bitcoin’s encryption.

Bitcoin climbs to near $72,000 after Treasury Secretary Bessent attempts to calm oil fears

Bessent said the U.S. Treasury Department will provide temporary authorization to allow countries to purchase Russian oil currently in transit.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the U.S. will allow the purchase of some Russian oil in order to help cap surging prices.

The news sent bitcoin jumping to just below $72,000, and the price of oil down about $2 per barrel.
With fears growing over the economic impact of surging oil costs, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Thursday evening that the Trump administration is taking steps to promote stability and lower energy prices.

"To increase the global reach of existing supply, the U.S. Treasury is providing a temporary authorization to permit countries to purchase Russian oil currently stranded at sea," said Bessent in an X post.
"The temporary increase in oil prices is a short-term and temporary disruption that will result in a massive benefit to our nation and economy in the long-term," added Bessent, suggesting market fears about the rise in oil prices were overblown.

Indeed, oil rose nearly 10% to nearly $100 per barrel on Thursday, helping to send the already slumping U.S. stock market to sharp losses.

Bitcoin BTC$72,325.21, which was able to hold the $70,000 level throughout most of the day, has jumped to just below $72,000 in the minutes following the Bessent post, now higher by 2.2% over the past 24 hours.

WTI crude oil has pulled back about $2 per barrel, currently trading at $95.22.

🔍 What Happened?
This attack is not a smart contract exploit, but rather a front-end takeover. According to community reports, hackers compromised a team account and used it to push a malicious drainer onto the website domain.
Visitors are currently shown a fake Terms of Service pop-up that looks like a normal compliance request. However, signing the message triggers the wallet drainer, allowing attackers to steal funds.

Following the news, the BONK token dropped around 1–1.5%, adding to a difficult year for the Solana meme coin, which has already lost about 45% of its value.

Rising activity across spot markets shows traders actively positioning around the asset. Increased liquidity now circulates through the market as buyers step in aggressively during the latest rally. However, this sharp rise in volume also signals heightened speculative interest rather than slow accumulation.
