In the past 24 hours, $50,120 worth of short positions (7,942,947,702 SHIB tokens) faced liquidations, as SHIB targeted higher prices.

The short liquidations accounted for 84.7% of the total liquidated Shiba Inu positions, totaling $59,170, while longs accounted for just $9,050.

Shiba Inu has shown resilience in price over the past few days, as it is on course for its 7th daily green candle in the past 8 days.

Open Interest has also improved significantly from around $54.51 million on March 1 to $60.90 million today.

SHIB’s spot trading volume has surged by a staggering 112% in the past 24 hours to $22.23 million, with futures trading volume also increasing 109% to $148.3 million.

Bitcoin Price Prediction: Is Explosive Rally Coming?

BTC is sitting at $73,500 pressing right up against the upper trendline of a rising wedge. And this is the exact level that rejected price every single time it got here over the past 6 weeks.

That history is why the market is so split right now. A lot of traders are looking at this pump and doing exactly what worked the last 3 or 4 times. They are shorting the rejection, expecting the same outcome, expecting price to bleed back toward $64,000 or lower.

But that is actually what makes this moment more dangerous for the bears than it looks. When everyone is positioned the same way and price does not roll over, the unwind gets violent.

The short squeeze setup that was building last week with negative funding rates has not gone away. Actually, it has just gotten more loaded with every failed breakdown attempt.

A clean break and hold above this upper channel trendline and $75,000 would be the trigger that forces those shorts to close in a hurry, and closing a short means buying, which pushes price higher, which forces more shorts to close.

If that rally continues, $80,000 is the first real target, then $84,000, and the full $90,000 level as the target.

$64,000 and $60,000 are both clearly marked as the floors if this rejection plays out like the previous ones.

On Monday, March 16, it is testing $74,500 per coin, the highest price since February 4, nearly a month and a half ago, and the move has cleared both the upper boundary of the six-week consolidation and the 50-day EMA in the process.

This is the most constructive technical development of 2026 so far, and it deserves to be taken seriously. It also deserves to be contextualized honestly, because the main trend on the Bitcoin chart remains down, the 200 EMA is still 20% away, and the Fibonacci extension from this year's declines is pointing somewhere very uncomfortable.

In this article, I will break down BTC/USDT technical analysis, examine what the breakout means and what it does not mean, and compile the most relevant Bitcoin price predictions for the rest of 2026. Based on my over 15 years of experience as an analyst and retail investor, here is what I am watching.
