Bitcoin floats near $70,000 as dollar strength and oil volatility pressure risk assets: analysts Bitcoin has rallied toward $70,000 again after four consecutive losing sessions as a stronger U.S. dollar and geopolitical tensions weigh on risk assets.

Despite market volatility, analysts say structural indicators such as ETF flow trends and exchange outflows suggest early signs of stabilization.

Bitcoin eyed the $70,000 marker after it initially retreated for a fourth consecutive trading session following Sunday's daily close as investors navigate a volatile macro environment marked by surging oil prices, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, and a strengthening U.S. dollar.

The largest cryptocurrency recently traded near $69,350, according to The Block's price page, after slipping toward the mid-$60,000 range earlier.

BTC's latest price action followed last week's attempt to break above the $74,000 resistance zone, which ultimately failed to hold. Analysts say the latest decline reflects shifting capital flows and a broader risk-off tone across global markets.

Bybit doubles down on Middle East operations amid regional tensions

Crypto exchange Bybit has reaffirmed its commitment to the Middle East amid escalating global conflict, announcing the appointment of a new country manager to increase its presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Tensions in the Middle East escalated last month after the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran. In response, Iran retaliated against several neighboring countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where Bybit maintains a major regional presence.

Helen Liu, co-CEO of Bybit, said the company has no plans to scale back its Middle East operations in light of the conflict.

“Some companies are reassessing their Gulf exposure right now. We are doing the opposite. We are deepening our presence, our investment, and our commitment to this region,” she said.

“We continue to invest in local talent, regulatory compliance, and community partnerships. The UAE’s vision to become the world’s leading digital asset hub is not diminished by this crisis. If anything, the resilience this nation is showing only reinforces why we chose to build here.”

Cryptocurrencies are often used in times of crisis, as citizens look to preserve their assets amid fears of instability in traditional banking systems.

Although selling pressures across the crypto market appear to be easing, $XRP has continued to show mixed price action as the price fails to stabilize above major resistance levels.

Following the instability in $XRP’s price, the asset’s network activity has failed to show any noticeable growth as $XRP's active addresses have fallen to the lowest level in more than a week.

$XRP active addresses fall to 14,809

According to data from crypto analytics platform Cryptoquant, the daily number of active addresses on the $XRP network has fallen to 14.809. This marks the lowest level reached since Feb. 22.

Although the decline in active $XRP addresses over the past day is only mild, it appears to have been triggered by the broader crypto market downturn.

Notably, the metric is a typical indication of lesser demand in $XRP’s network activities as fewer wallets are transacting amid fading momentum.

Following the decrease in active addresses, it is evident that $XRP's short-term momentum is increasingly growing weaker, which could trigger more downside pressure for $XRP’s price.

$XRP set for price switch

While the metric plays a major role in predicting the asset’s potential performance, it is unlikely that the recent decrease in active $XRP addresses could cause any major impact on its potential price action, considering its mild difference.

Despite the decline seen in the metric, $XRP’s price is gradually flipping to the green zone, as it is currently showing a decent price decline of only 0.04% over the past 24 hours.

While other notable cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Solana are back on the upside trajectory, showing daily price gains of about 3-4%, $XRP appears to be gradually picking up pace as well.
