For a long time, $XRP Ledger, like Bitcoin, was criticized for excessive transparency. According to Vet, the solution to this problem is already approaching and will be implemented through zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology.

The central element of the new architecture will be the ZKP technology itself, which allows the network to confirm the validity of a transaction, the availability of funds and the absence of double spending without revealing sensitive data such as the transfer amount, the sender's and receiver's addresses or the type of asset being transferred.

Stablecoin uncertainty could hurt banks more than crypto firms: Expert

Regulatory uncertainty around stablecoins could place traditional banks at a greater disadvantage than crypto companies, according to Colin Butler, executive vice president of capital markets at Mega Matrix.

Butler said financial institutions have already invested heavily in digital asset infrastructure but remain unable to deploy it fully while lawmakers debate how stablecoins should be classified. “Their general counsels are telling their boards that you cannot justify the capital expenditure until you know whether stablecoins will be treated as deposits, securities, or a distinct payment instrument,” he told Cointelegraph.

Several major banks have already developed parts of the infrastructure needed to support stablecoins. JPMorgan developed its Onyx blockchain payments network, BNY Mellon launched digital asset custody services, and Citigroup has tested tokenized deposits.

“The infrastructure spend is real, but regulatory ambiguity caps how far those investments can scale because risk and compliance functions will not greenlight full deployment without knowing how the product will be classified,” Butler argued.

On the other hand, crypto firms, which have operated in regulatory gray zones for years, would likely continue doing so. “Banks, by contrast, cannot operate comfortably in that gray area,” he added.

Authorities pulled the plug on the Socksescort proxy empire, freezing $3.5 million in crypto and exposing a global router botnet.

U.S. and European authorities have dismantled Socksescort, a residential proxy network powered by AVRecon malware that quietly hijacked more than 369,000 devices across 163 countries. Operating since 2020, the service sold access to infected home routers, allowing criminals to disguise their IP addresses while carrying out cryptocurrency account takeovers, bank fraud, ransomware attacks and other schemes.

Victims reportedly lost millions, including $1 million from a New York crypto investor and $700,000 from a Pennsylvania business. During “Operation Lightning,” officials seized 34 domains, shut down 23 servers in seven countries, froze $3.5 million in cryptocurrency payments, and disconnected thousands of infected devices from the network. The crackdown involved the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), FBI, IRS Criminal Investigation, Europol, Eurojus,t and several European law enforcement agencies. Investigators say the service generated about $5.7 million for operators while exposing roughly 124,000 proxy users who relied on the botnet’s anonymity.

Authorities believe evidence from seized servers could lead to additional prosecutions. Officials also warned that compromised routers remain a weak point in global cybersecurity, urging owners to update firmware, secure devices, and replace outdated hardware. Experts say dismantling the network removes a key tool used to hide ransomware operations, DDoS attacks, and crypto-related fraud carried out through residential proxy infrastructure.

A recent report from Bitcointreasuries.net has highlighted a significant shift in the behavior of Bitcoin (BTC) treasuries, revealing that the number of sales has outpaced purchases for the first time in February.

Bitcoin Treasuries Experience Net Decrease

According to the report, public companies engaged in treasury strategies purchased or disclosed nearly 7,800 BTC worth approximately $522 million at the end of February 2026.

Notably, about two-thirds of these acquisitions were attributed to a single entity, Michael Saylor’s Strategy (previously MicroStrategy), while just six other companies accounted for the rest. 

However, selling activity overshadowed these additions, with various public treasuries collectively selling or reducing their holdings by approximately 8,600 BTC. This resulted in a net decrease of around 800 BTC for the month.

Macro investor Raoul Pal says the next two weeks could prove decisive for the cryptocurrency market, arguing that widespread pessimism among traders may be overlooking powerful macroeconomic forces building in the background.

In a recent market outlook, Pal said global liquidity remains the dominant macro driver of digital assets, citing 90% correlation with Bitcoin and 97% with the Nasdaq‑100 Index since 2012.

The investor noted that global liquidity continues expanding at roughly 10% annually and shows little sign of slowing. According to Pal, the Global Macro Investor financial conditions index leads liquidity by about six months and is still easing.

Raoul Pal added that a recent “air pocket” in U.S. total liquidity, created when government funding flows were temporarily curtailed, appears to have bottomed three months ago and is accelerating again. Since this measure tends to lead crypto markets by about three months, the rebound could soon filter into digital asset prices.

Pal also pointed to an accelerating business cycle, rising bank liquidity through the enhanced supplementary leverage ratio mechanism, incoming U.S. tax refunds that expand bank balance sheets, and China’s expanding balance sheet as additional sources of liquidity. Expected U.S. rate cuts may also increase disposable income and risk-taking.

Furthermore, Pal said the proposed CLARITY Act may unlock participation from banks and asset managers seeking regulatory certainty. Stablecoin issuance, which expanded roughly 50% last year, is growing rapidly, with transaction volumes already reaching trillions of dollars.
