This creates problems, like if the exchanges let the transaction continue, then the funds could disappear quickly, and if the exchanges freeze the funds without legal protection, they could face lawsuits. This law creates a legal framework allowing exchanges to temporarily hold suspicious assets.

If the law receives approval, crypto exchanges could halt transfers before criminals shift their funds across multiple wallets. Supporters say this would strengthen cooperation between crypto companies and law enforcement agencies. The temporary freeze could stop money from being stolen or illegal funds from being used within minutes.

Legal experts say that the proposal raises several complicated issues. Andrew Rossow, who was a public affairs attorney, explained that the banks already have limited powers to delay suspicious transactions. Another concern involves transparency rules. Bitcoin ETFs see $167M in inflows as BTC surges above $71KUS-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded net inflows on Monday, ending a two-session stretch of withdrawals.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $167 million in net inflows during the session, according to data from SoSoValue.

The inflows followed approximately $577 million in combined outflows on Thursday and Friday.

The renewed demand coincided with a rebound in the price of Bitcoin, which climbed toward $71,000 as broader market sentiment improved.

Altcoin ETFs continue to see selling

While Bitcoin-linked products attracted fresh capital, funds tied to other major cryptocurrencies continued to experience selling pressure.

Exchange-traded funds tracking Ethereum, XRP, and Solana all recorded net outflows on Monday.

Ether ETFs posted $51 million in outflows, XRP funds saw withdrawals of $18 million, and Solana ETFs recorded $2.5 million in outflows, according to SoSoValue.

The declines marked the third consecutive day of withdrawals across altcoin funds.

Ethereum-linked products experienced the largest cumulative losses during the period, with about $225 million exiting over three trading sessions.

Although selling pressure in Ethereum and Solana ETFs appeared to be easing toward the end of the period, XRP funds continued to see larger withdrawals, totalling roughly $41 million since Thursday.

Solana ETFs saw about $16 million in cumulative outflows over the same timeframe.

Notably, the withdrawals occurred even as the underlying cryptocurrencies posted gains of roughly 3% to 5% over the past 24 hours, based on data from CoinGecko.

On Tuesday, March 10, XRP/USD rose about 2.3% to $1.39 in early Asian trading, tracking gains in equities and the broader crypto market as oil prices pulled back sharply. The rebound extended a relief move that began Monday, when Trump’s comments prompted traders to unwind some of the stagflation bets tied to the conflict.

Still, Wall Street investors sold into the move by reducing exposure to XRP-linked ETF products, signaling limited confidence in the token’s upside holding for long.

Oil prices remain elevated despite the latest pullback, keeping inflation risks alive and limiting investors’ appetite for riskier assets.

Goldman Sachs warned that higher energy costs could lift US consumer inflation in the coming months, reinforcing fears that sticky CPI may keep financial conditions tighter for longer.

Ripple Executive Says XRP May Become the ‘Glue’ of Blockchain Finance
Markus Infanger, SVP RippleX, says the XRP Ledger is gradually developing into infrastructure for institutional decentralized finance, with XRP positioned at the center of liquidity and settlement. 

Infanger discussed the idea in a Podcast shared by BankXRP on X, describing XRP as a connecting layer within blockchain-based financial systems.

“I see XRP as the glue that connects liquidity and settlement,” Infanger said.
Infanger explained that XRP functions as the native asset powering the XRP Ledger. The token is used for transaction fees and reserve requirements across the network, making it fundamental to how the system operates. 

Because of this structure, XRP plays a direct role in maintaining network activity and facilitating transfers between participants. According to Infanger, the ledger was designed so that value movement and liquidity functions rely on the same underlying asset.

“XRP is the native asset of the XRP Ledger, and it powers all the fees and reserves on the network,” he said.

Ripple’s developer arm, RippleX, focuses on building tools and infrastructure that expand the financial capabilities of the ledger while keeping XRP at the center of transaction activity.
