Pi Network Launches Second Migration Phase
Pi Network has officially opened its second migration phase, letting Pioneers who already moved their first Pi balance to Mainnet bring additional tokens on-chain. The news was first shared on Pi Day, March 14, and is now gradually rolling out across the network—a milestone many in the community have been eagerly awaiting.
When Pi Network launched its Open Network in February 2025, Pioneers were able to transfer their first batch of transferable Pi to Mainnet. That was the first migration. Now, the second migration allows tokens that weren’t part of the initial transfer—like accumulated mining rewards and referral bonuses—to finally move on-chain.
This is a key development for the Pi ecosystem: more tokens on Mainnet means more activity—payments, DEX trading, and participation in the newly launched Pi Launchpad. Pioneers holding additional balances off-chain now have a clear path to fully join the ecosystem.
The rollout is gradual by design, following Pi Network’s phased release strategy to avoid flooding the market or straining infrastructure.
Important requirement: Before processing any migration, Pioneers must have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled on their Pi Wallet via Step 5 of the Mainnet Checklist. This may include adding a trusted email if not already linked. Pi Network emphasizes this for safety—once Pi moves on-chain, blockchain transactions are irreversible, and 2FA helps protect users’ assets.

It was attended by Ham Young-joo, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, and Bill Winters, CEO of Standard Chartered Group. Seoul Economic Daily reports that Ham and Winters exchanged views on cooperation in global and digital assets. Chairman Ham stated that:
