Investor appetite strengthens

Investor appetite for Ethereum Classic [ETC] has increased sharply, according to sentiment data from CoinMarketCap.

The indicator, which aggregates community votes to track whether traders are bullish or bearish, showed that 100% of roughly 4.3 million participants expected further upside for ETC.

Google search data also pointed to a gradual rise in public interest.

Data from Google Trends showed that search interest for Ethereum Classic’s ticker has increased by 10 points, rising from 32 on the 15th of March, which marked the lowest level recorded this year.

Although the increase remained modest, sustained growth in search activity could translate into broader market attention. Higher visibility often precedes stronger capital allocation as more traders begin to track and participate in the asset’s movement.

In an X post on March 14, the organization announced that it was offloading 5,000 ETH, worth approximately $10 million, at an average price of $2,042.96 through an over-the-counter (OTC) transaction. The buyer in this deal is Bitmine, a publicly traded Bitcoin mining company that operates under the ticker BMNR.

According to the Ethereum Foundation, the ETH transaction was confirmed on-chain through the organization’s Safe multisig wallet at address: 0x9fC3dc011b461664c835F2527fffb1169b3C213e. The sale represents part of the foundation’s broader treasury management strategy, which is guided by detailed policies published in 2025.

The Ethereum Foundation has also stated that the funds raised from the sale will be used for its core operations and activities. These include protocol research and development, ecosystem management, and community grant funding. Bitmine’s involvement as an OTC counterparty highlights a growing network of institutional buyers interested in participating in the Ethereum ecosystem. The company has continued to buy ETH even during volatile market conditions.

Notably, the move also follows a series of previous ETH sales by the organization, demonstrating a structured approach toward funding its operational and developmental priorities. Customers Locked Out As Withdrawals Halt
BlockFills stopped letting customers move their money last month. The company pointed to a sharp Bitcoin selloff — the coin dropped from above $97,000 to below $64,000 between mid-January and early February — as the reason it needed to protect both itself and its clients.

Deposits and withdrawals went dark. No timeline for restoration was given.

Now the company and three related entities, all operating under parent firm Reliz LTD, have taken their case to federal bankruptcy court in Delaware.

The filing seeks a Chapter 11 restructuring, which allows a company to keep running while it works out a repayment plan with the people it owes money to.

In a statement, BlockFills said the decision came after talks with investors, clients, and creditors. The company said it believes the court process will give it the time and structure needed to stabilize operations, find additional sources of cash, and look at possible deals with outside parties.

According to the latest QCP Market Colour report, cryptocurrencies are striking back and not letting the war get the most of their price movements in what analysts call a “late-quarter plot twist.” Both bitcoin ($BTC) and ether ($ETH) are trading in the green over daily and weekly timeframes. At the time of writing, $BTC was hovering above $73,550, while $ETH changed hands around $2,250.

Bitcoin’s safe-haven and geopolitical-hedge narrative is resurfacing, with market volatility testing the thesis in real time. Equities, on the other hand, are testing key support levels amid heightened oil volatility and geopolitical tensions. This reflects the decoupling between crypto, equities, and gold.

It is worth noting that crypto has decoupled from gold and equities to the upside before; this happened during the early stages of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2022. Although the implosion of the Terra-Luna ecosystem and the downfall of FTX reversed bitcoin’s upward momentum, the asset climbed from $35,000 to $48,000 within a month. Analysts say a similar pattern could play out this time, however, without the same level of systemic shock due to the industry’s maturity.
