Equity perps been popping on my CT feed lately, so I dove into @Delphi_Digital’s excellent report by @trevor_flipper.

Here's a simple breakdown ↓

1. What even are equity perps?

You know how you can trade BTC/ETH with leverage on Hyperliquid?

Equity perps are the exact same thing but for stocks. AAPL, TSLA, NVDA.

Deposit USDC, pick a stock, go long or short with leverage, 24/7.

2. The problems right now:

Expensive. You're paying 11–31% annually just to hold a position vs 6.5% if you used a normal broker.

Order books are thin. Big orders move the price a lot.

Trade outside US market hours and spreads blow out badly. The price on the perp drifts away from the real stock price overnight.

3. So why does anyone care?

Because crypto perps looked exactly like this in 2024.

Everyone said the same thing: too expensive, books too thin, not worth it.

Then something changed.

Spot BTC launched directly on Hyperliquid and traders started buying real BTC and shorting the perp to collect that expensive funding as free yield.

That single flow cut BTC funding costs nearly in half within months, from ~18% down to ~9%. ETH followed the exact same path, dropping from ~15% to ~8%.

4. Equity perps are next:

US regulatory clarity is coming. NYSE is moving toward 24/7 trading.

Once you can trade the actual stock alongside the perp on the same platform, the same trade happens:

Buy real AAPL, short AAPL perp, collect funding.

That flow anchors the price, deepens the books, and compresses costs automatically.

Ethereum Price Prediction: Can ETH Launch a Strong Rebound After Reclaiming $2K?

Ethereum is still in recovery mode, but the rebound is starting to look more organized than before. The asset continues to hold above the February base and is pressing closer to a key breakout area, which suggests buyers are gradually gaining confidence even if the larger trend has not fully turned yet.

Ethereum Price Analysis: The Daily Chart

The daily chart still carries the scars of the broader downtrend. $ETH remains below the 100-day and 200-day moving averages, and both are still sloping in a way that favors sellers on the higher timeframe. The descending structure from the prior months also remains intact, so the market is not out of danger yet.

Even so, the picture has improved at the margin. Ethereum has spent several weeks defending the $1,800 zone and has now pushed back toward the $2,150 short-term resistance area again. If that ceiling breaks, the next upside region to watch sits around $2,300 to $2,400, while the much larger barrier remains near $2,800. On the downside, losing the $1,800 support cluster would weaken the recovery thesis considerably and likely lead to another round of decline capitulation.
