White House admits Iran war burned equivalent of half the US Bitcoin reserve in 6 Days

The United States spent in the first six days of its war with Iran an amount equal to nearly half the current market value of the Bitcoin held by the federal government.

The administration told lawmakers this week that the war cost at least $11.3 billion through its first six days, Reuters reported on March 11.

According to the report, the $11.3 billion estimate came from a closed-door briefing for senators on Tuesday and did not include the full cost of the conflict.

Meanwhile, the US officials also told lawmakers that $5.6 billion in munitions was used in the first two days of strikes. Several congressional members reportedly said they expect the White House to seek additional money from Congress.

Solana Price With Atheneum’s ATH Market Cap Of $583 Billion
Presently, after hitting new all-time highs back in 2025, the Ethereum all-time high market cap sits at $581 billion, compared to Solana’s $160 billion. Taking this into account, SOL would have to cross the $581 billion market cap mark to completely flip Ethereum.

Using data from the MarketCapOf website, it tells how high the Solana price would need to be to reach Ethereum’s all-time high market cap. It puts it at a price of $1,022, a 1,178% increase from the current price. This means that SOL is currently trading 0.8x less than the ETH price.

The dominance of Solana over Ethereum also extends outside of its DeFi activity, though. When it comes to Real-World Assets (RWA), SOL quickly became a powerhouse, and recently, it successfully surpassed Ethereum in its RWA users. It moved above 155,000 users, compared to ETH’s 153,000.

However, when it comes to RWA volume, ETH remains the dominant chain. According to RWA.xyz, there is over $15.5 billion in Real-World Assets domiciled on Ethereum, compared to the $1.7 billion that is lying on the Solana blockchain.

Bitcoin holds above $71,000, defying rising dollar, oil and U.S. bond yields

Stronger dollar, rising Treasury yields, and tech equities treading water contrast with bitcoin’s resilience amid geopolitical tensions.

The U.S. Dollar Index has broken above 100 for the first time since late November.

At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 proxy, the Invesco QQQ Trust, is down about 0.5% and oil prices remain near $100 per barrel, conditions that typically weigh on risk assets.

Strategy (MSTR), the largest publicly traded corporate holder of bitcoin, is up more than 1 percent after acquiring roughly 11,000 BTC using proceeds from its perpetual preferred security Stretch (STRC).

Bitcoin BTC$71,859.13 rose above $71,500 on Friday, outperforming U.S. equities even as the dollar strengthened and oil prices remained elevated as the war with Iran was set to enter its third week.

A stronger dollar can tighten global financial conditions and often weighs on risk assets such as equities and cryptocurrencies. Higher oil prices — both Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate are hovering around $100 per barrel — reinforce inflation concerns and heighten expectations of interest-rate increases. Higher rates also detract from the attraction of such investments.
Despite these macro and geopolitical pressures, including the Middle East conflict, bitcoin has remained resilient and is among the best-performing macro assets since the war began on March 1. Historically, Fridays during this period have seen the largest cryptocurrency fall some 3%, a pattern that has not repeated so far today.

The Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the strength of the U.S. currency against a basket of major global currencies, topped 100 for the first time since late November. U.S.

Solana breaks key trendline as Open Interest surges 5% to $5B



Solana ($SOL) price could see increased volatility after breaking out amid its rising Open Interest (OI) on March 13, 2026.

After being trapped in a horizontal consolidation in the past five weeks, $SOL price broke out of its falling trendline on a logarithmic chart during the last 24 hours, according to analysis by independent analyst Clifton Fx.


Solana, with a market cap of roughly $50 billion, at press time, surged over 4% in the past 24 hours to trade around $89.18 on Friday, as per data from CoinMarketCap, a price-tracking platform for digital assets.

As such, Solana’s Open Interest, a dataset that tracks the total number of outstanding derivative contracts, spiked more than 5% today to hover around $5.46 billion at the time of this publication, based on metrics from CoinGlass.


Solana bullish momentum builds on robust fundamentals

Solana’s bullish momentum has been building up in the recent past catalyzed by the network’s robust fundamentals.


For instance, Solana’s total value locked (TVL) has grown steadily in the last six months to reach about $6.917 billion on March 13. Additionally, the network’s stablecoin market cap has increased in the past year to reach $15.64 billion as of this writing. Historically, a rising network activity on a blockchain has been associated with bullish sentiment and vice versa.

The midterm bullish momentum for Solana is also backed by the renewed demand from United States-based spot Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). During the past two days, the U.S. spot $SOL ETFs have registered a net cash inflow of $5.58 million, thereby increasing their total net assets to $824.87 million, as revealed by data from SoSoValue.

SEC working on 'narrower' exemption for tokenized securities: Hester Peirce

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce said the agency is developing a “narrower” innovation exemption for tokenized securities, as suggested by the Investor Advisory Committee.

The IAC recommended that regulatory exemptions for tokenized securities should be on a “rule-by-rule” basis rather than through a “blanket” approach.

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Hester Peirce stated today that the agency is developing an innovation exemption for tokenized securities, but in a more restrictive manner.

"Commission staff is working on an innovation exemption to facilitate limited trading of certain tokenized securities—much narrower than the 'blanket' exemption mentioned in the draft recommendation," Commissioner Peirce said during a SEC Investor Advisory Committee meeting on Thursday, which discussed the subject matter.

The IAC, which advises the commission on regulatory priorities, recommended that the SEC not establish a sweeping "blanket" innovation exemption from existing securities rules for tokenized securities. Such crypto assets remain classified as securities under federal law.

In a Feb. 26 letter, the IAC's market structure subcommittee noted that such an approach could erode core investor protections, including clear disclosures of ownership rights, oversight of intermediaries, and order protections similar to those in traditional equity markets.

The subcommittee instead suggested a targeted, "rule-by-rule" reform approach, subject to public notice and comment before adoption.

"We further note that our recommendation focuses on high-level issues and principles, as the tokenization of equity securities remains at a very early stage and involves complex technological developments," the IAC wrote. "
