Pi Network [PI] has been a strong performer over the past week. According to CoinMarketCap data, it was up by 16.1% over the past week and witnessed a 5% rally over the past 24 hours.

This was encouraging news, especially when contrasted against Bitcoin’s [BTC] 1.4% plunge over the previous day.

This relative strength might give PI bulls the confidence to go long. Yet, as AMBCrypto reported earlier in the week, the altcoin’s longer-term trend might not favor the buyers in the coming days and weeks.

Are PI prices in a value area for traders?
On the daily chart, the price was back at the psychological $0.20 supply zone. The gains it has made over the past three weeks were a heartening sight to speculators, but it could be a trap.

The long-term trend remained bearish. The current rally was likely part of a retracement before the bearish move can continue. In the lower timeframes, a triangle pattern was spotted recently, which led to a strong breakout.

This breakout has reached the 78.6% retracement level at $0.197. The OBV has made higher highs during the rally, and the Awesome Oscillator was back above the zero line. Together, they indicated buying pressure and positive momentum.

On the other hand, the CMF has remained below -0.05 for most of the retracement. This was a contradictory sign, but it agreed with the longer-term price action- bulls were likely too weak to reverse the downtrend.

Traders, is it time to sell PI?
It was nearly time to sell PI. The H4 trend was bullish, exemplified by the break of the lower high at $0.1788 (cyan). The most recent higher low was at $0.1857 (green), while a local resistance level at $0.2055 (white) opposed further bullish expansion.

On this timeframe chart, the technical indicators were all bullish. Yet, the higher timeframe trends must be respected.

Even the smallest signals can hint when the economy’s starting to wobble.

Take BlackRock, for example. The world’s largest asset manager, sitting on $26 billion in private credit funds, recently blocked investors from pulling out $1.2 billion – A move that’s stirring plenty of FUD in the crypto market.

And, it’s not just them. The Kobeissi Letter recently flagged that the private credit industry is massively overvalued. Case in point – Business Development Companies are trading at 0.73x their net asset value (NAV).

In other words, the market prices BDC at 73% of their claimed worth.

Clearly, BlackRock isn’t immune to the trend. By denying $1.2 billion in withdrawals, the asset manager is only highlighting the liquidity squeeze hitting these firms, partly thanks to the economic shakeup driven by A.I.

Naturally, the big question is – As one of the largest Bitcoin [BTC] ETF managers, how is BlackRock’s balance sheet holding up under this squeeze? And, if things tighten, would their first move be a wave of selling?

Liquidity crunch at BlackRock puts risk assets on edge
The latest BlackRock frenzy didn’t come out of nowhere.

Sitting on $26 billion in private credit, the firm just blocked $1.2 billion in withdrawals – A clear sign that even the biggest players aren’t immune to economic stress when they struggle to meet large redemption requests.

Notably, the market reacted fast. BlackRock shares tumbled, closing the session down 7.69%. In fact, this marked the biggest single-day sell-off of this cycle, even worse than the Q4 crash the market saw back in 2025.

For risk assets, this could be a turning point.

As the largest ETF manager, BlackRock’s tumbling shares and $1.2 billion liquidity squeeze show more than just a weak balance sheet. Instead, they highlight a growing loss of conviction among institutional investors.

DeFi Technologies Inc. has received a notice from Nasdaq Stock Market after its share price remained below the exchange’s minimum bid requirement of $1 for 30 consecutive business days.

In a statement released on 6 March, the Toronto-based fintech firm said Nasdaq informed the company that it no longer meets the minimum bid price rule under Listing Rule 5550(a)(2).

The rule requires companies listed on the Nasdaq Capital Market to maintain a closing bid price of at least $1 per share.

The notice does not immediately affect the listing or trading of DeFi Technologies’ common shares, which continue to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker DEFT.

Company given 180 days to regain compliance
Under Nasdaq rules, DeFi Technologies has been granted a 180-calendar-day compliance period, ending on 1 September 2026.

To meet the requirement, the company’s closing share price must reach $1 or higher for at least 10 consecutive business days. However, Nasdaq may require up to 20 consecutive trading days before confirming compliance.

If the company fails to regain compliance within that timeframe, it may qualify for an additional 180-day extension, provided it meets other continued listing standards and submits a plan to address the deficiency.

Companies in similar situations often pursue measures such as reverse stock splits to increase the share price and meet exchange requirements.

Shares have fallen sharply in recent months
The notice follows a prolonged decline in the company’s stock price. Shares of DeFi Technologies have fallen significantly from levels above $2.50 last year, recently trading around $0.67, according to TradingView data.

The drop pushed the stock below Nasdaq’s $1 threshold earlier this year, triggering the deficiency notice after the price remained under the limit for 30 consecutive trading days.
