World Liberty Financial (WLFI) has approved a new governance proposal requiring token holders to lock their tokens for 180 days if they want to keep voting rights in the protocol.

The proposal passed with overwhelming support, receiving 99.12% approval from voters. The goal is to ensure that only long-term supporters of the project can influence important decisions.

During the lock-up period, users who participate in at least two governance votes can earn around 2% annual yield on their staked WLFI tokens.

Another interesting point is that large holders staking 50 million WLFI tokens may receive direct access to the WLFI team for potential collaboration opportunities.

WLFI is also working on building a crypto financial ecosystem centered around its stablecoin USD1 and aims to support the global role of the US dollar in the digital economy.

Shiba Inu's token burn activity accelerated over the past 24 hours, with over 4 million SHIB tokens removed from circulation. Data from the Shibburn tracking website confirms the 63% burn rate increase. This follows a five-day price decline for the SHIB token.

As of press time, SHIB is trading at $0.00000582, down 0.20% in the past 24 hours. The token retreated after hitting a weekly high of $0.0000063 on March 13th. Since hitting a low of $0.00000528 on March 9th, the price of SHIB has steadily climbed. On Sunday, selling pressure returned, with the price briefly touching a daily low of $0.00000582 due to short covering.

The total supply of Shiba Inu tokens is currently 589,245,487,886,725 SHIB, and the circulating supply is 585,475,487,843,975 SHIB. These figures reflect the token reduction efforts that the project and its community have been carrying out over the years.

Since the initial issuance of 1 quadrillion tokens, 410,754,512,113,274 SHIB have been permanently removed, representing over 40% of the initial supply. Most of the destroyed tokens were related to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who destroyed 410 trillion SHIBs, approximately 90% of the tokens that Shiba Inu developers sent to his wallet without prior notice.
