Existing authentication methods, such as facial recognition, CAPTCHAs, and two-factor codes, are experiencing growing constraints as the generation of synthetic information gets more straightforward. The amount of time that it takes for attackers to penetrate systems has grown by 22 percent since 2023, with breaches now happening in an average of 48 minutes. This information comes from data collected by stakeholders in the industry.

The method that VeryAI employs is based on palm biometrics, which is a kind of identification that is not only very unique but also seldom disclosed to the general public. By using the camera of a smartphone, the system is able to acquire palm scans without the need for any specific gear. When it comes to validating a single hand, the business claims that their verification model has a false acceptance rate of around one in ten million. This is in contrast to the approximately one in one million rate that many face recognition systems have. Solana’s Alpenglow Upgrade Targets Near-Instant Finality and Simpler Consensus

Solana developers are preparing a sweeping consensus upgrade called Alpenglow, a protocol redesign expected to cut transaction finality from seconds to mere fractions of a second while removing several long-standing architectural components of the network.

The proposal, formally introduced through SIMD-0326, represents one of the largest protocol changes in the history of the Solana blockchain. The redesign replaces the existing Proof-of-History timing system and the TowerBFT voting model with a new consensus structure built around two components: Votor, which manages validator voting and finalization, and Rotor, a future mechanism designed to streamline data propagation across the network.

According to official documentation published on Solana’s network upgrades page, the Alpenglow protocol is designed to deliver roughly 150-millisecond median confirmation times, with simulations suggesting finality could fall between 100 and 150 milliseconds under current mainnet conditions.

If those numbers hold in production, Solana’s confirmation speed would drop dramatically from the roughly 12.8-second finality window associated with its current TowerBFT architecture.

Developers say the speed improvement stems largely from a simpler voting structure. Under Alpenglow’s Votor mechanism, validators send votes directly rather than submitting vote transactions on chain. Two finalization paths run in parallel: a fast path that confirms blocks in a single round when roughly 80% of staked validators agree, and a slower fallback that finalizes blocks after two rounds if at least 60% of sta

Whenever the market enters a period of uncertainty, some people attempt to predict the next trend using a "historical regression" approach. In such cases, people often see these theories and charts showing history repeating itself, seemingly automatically overlapping and verifying future market movements with past events.

This overlap appears to have a magical effect and is often validated. Some bloggers claim an accuracy rate of 75% to 80% for this prediction.

 This kind of "tick-tock" price prediction, which frequently goes viral on social media, is it truly helping the market identify key stages, or is it simply packaging noise as prophecy?

From "Tick-Tock" to "Historical Rhyme"

The pinnacle of predicting the October 2025 market peak was achieved by an analyst named CryptoBullet. He created an analytical method called "tick-tock," which, starting in May 2025, predicted that the price of BTC would peak in October.

Ultimately, this model successfully predicted the end of the bull market. However, regarding the price, CryptoBullet predicted $150,000, while the actual highest price only reached $126,000.


From the perspective of his predictive model's principles, achieving this result was expected. His main logic was: in the past few cycles, a certain number of days after a halving often approached the top.  When the market has entered a similar window, extrapolating price movements based on the same time intervals could lead to a peak of $150,000 in October. The most important parameter in this logic is the time cycle, so while the time prediction is relatively accurate, the price prediction misses.

Bitcoin advocate group to fight Basel’s ‘toxic’ treatment of cryptocurrency

The Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) says it will push the US Federal Reserve to change how Bitcoin is treated, as the central bank is set to issue rules on how banks should implement international guidelines for asset risk weighting.

“BPI will be reviewing this proposal closely and submitting a public comment to ensure that US regulators get Bitcoin’s treatment right,” Bitcoin Policy Institute managing director Conner Brown said in an X post on Wednesday.

It comes just a day after the Fed announced it will issue a proposal for public comment on how US banks should implement risk-weighting guidance, which determines how risky different assets are on a bank’s balance sheet, from the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.

Brown said Bitcoin (BTC) is “treated as a toxic asset under the Basel framework, a global standard for banking regulations.

He added it carries a 1,250% risk weighting, which was “harsher than virtually all other asset classes.”

“More efficient regulation” is the aim: Fed

Federal Reserve vice chair for supervision Michelle Boman said on Thursday that the agency will be proposing rules in the coming weeks to implement the final phase of Basel in the US.

Bowman said that the aim is “more efficient regulation and banks that are better [positioned] to support economic growth, while preserving safety and soundness.”

The 1,250% capital requirement means that banks must back any Bitcoin on their balance sheets at a 1:1 ratio with approved collateral, making holding the cryptocurrency more costly than other asset classes.

Cash, physical gold and government debt carry a 0% risk weight under the Basel framework.
