Crypto markets look weak again, and fear still moves faster than conviction.

Between the 5th and 6th of March, money flowed out of major crypto assets fast. Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana all took hits as traders turned cautious. LINK, however, refused to go down with the rest.

That divergence mattered. While broad capital exited the market, Chainlink kept attracting money. Therefore, the asset started to stand out for the right reasons, not because of hype, but because it refused to crack.

So, what exactly kept Chainlink in that conversation?

Chainlink ranks among top crypto projects Chainlink stayed near the top where serious projects usually lived, not where noise survived.

According to Santiment, Chainlink ranked third in crypto development activity over the last 30 days. MetaMask USD took the top spot, while Hedera ranked second. Therefore, LINK remained among the few names still showing real building strength.

That ranking said something ugly about the rest of the market. Many tokens demanded attention, but fewer actually earned it through visible work. Meanwhile, Chainlink kept showing up where it mattered, inside the data.

The chances for a US recession are rising on Kalshi and Polymarket, with the recent jump coming in early March 2026. Their respective readings are indications for a duration by the end of 2026. Crypto prices are under scrutiny because it could lead to a global recession – forcing investors to divert their allocations. Meanwhile, oil prices have risen considerably.

Chances for US Recession
Kalshi was last seen placing a 34.9% chance for US recession by the end of 2026. Polymarket has pinned its chances to 39%. What’s common between both is the starting point. Kalshi and Polymarket saw a reasonable jump from early March 2026. Chances were as low as 22% according to Polymarket, while Kalshi was at around 21.7%.

Polymarket was highest at the end of October 2025 with 46%; however, it started declining over the next few months. March 2026 saw a step upward movement from 24% to the current point. It only moved down once, but that was from 33% to 31%.

It is important to note that chances for a US recession fluctuate on Kalshi and Polymarket frequently. The values mentioned in the article are true at the time of drafting the piece.

Crypto Prices in Danger?
Crypto prices are affected by multiple factors, but US recession triggering a global recession could end up becoming a prominent component. The February 2026 unemployment data showed a rate of 4.4%, slightly up from 4.3% for January 2026. Moreover, it is speculated that the ongoing Iran conflict could escalate issues if the conflict is prolonged.

For now, crypto prices are hovering within a set range. BTC is trading at $64,240.50, and ETH is trading at $1,977.45. The FGI has shifted to 19 points, a bit down from 20 points but massively down from 41 points from early January 2026.

The inflation data is next on the list, expected to be published on March 11, 2026.

As a new trading day opened, mixed signals were hovering across the crypto market. The Fear and Greed Index value is settled at 19, implying extreme fear. The dominant assets, like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), strive to recover from the recent losses. Meanwhile, Ripple’s XRP has spiked by over 0.52% in the last 24 hours.

The asset’s price has experienced heavy volatility with the potential bears in action, and its current lowest and highest trading range falls between $1.33 and $1.37. At press time, XRP trades at $1.35, with its daily trading volume having surged by over 62.6% to $1.89 billion. Besides, the market has seen a $3.77 million liquidation of XRP.

XRP’s four-hour timeframe is ruled by bears, and the price might slip to the key support range at around $1.32. If the downside correction intensifies, the death cross could emerge and send the price toward $1.29 or even lower.

On the flip side, with the bulls reclaiming their lost ground, the XRP price could climb to the $1.38 level. A move toward $1.41 or above would bring in further gains. With the upside pressure strengthening, the golden cross might form.

XRP’s technical analysis reports that the Moving Average Convergence Divergence and the signal lines are positioned below the zero line. It indicates a bearish outlook. Recent price movement is lagging the broader trend. For the momentum to improve, the MACD need to move back above zero.

Significantly, the Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) indicator at -0.18 suggests strong selling pressure, with clear capital outflows. With this value, distribution is taking place, showing weak demand and cautious market sentiment. If it stays deeply negative, XRP may continue facing the downtrend.
