What’s the State of the Altcoin Season Index? Is Altcoin Season Beginning? 48 Altcoins Outperformed Bitcoin

The Altcoin Season Index, a key indicator closely followed by investors in the cryptocurrency market, measures the performance of altcoins against Bitcoin, revealing which asset class is stronger in the market.

According to data published by CoinMarketCap (CMC), the index is currently at 48/100, indicating that the market is still in “Bitcoin season” territory.

The Altcoin Season Index is calculated by analyzing the performance of the top 100 cryptocurrencies against Bitcoin over the past 90 days. If at least 75% of these assets outperform Bitcoin, the market is considered to be in “Altcoin Season”; otherwise, it’s considered “Bitcoin Season”. The current level of 48 points indicates that altcoins are beginning to gain strength, but a full-fledged altcoin season hasn’t yet begun.

Looking at the index’s recent performance, an upward trend is noticeable. The index, which was at 44 yesterday, 36 last week, and 30 last month, has been increasing gradually.

Data shows that while Bitcoin has experienced a decline of approximately 15.7% in the last 90 days, some altcoins have performed much more strongly compared to $BTC. For example, projects such as River ($RIVER) with a 656% increase, Kite ($KITE) with a 145% increase, CC (CC) with a 115% increase, Stable ($STABLE) with an 88% increase, Morpho ($MORPHO) with a 65% increase, LayerZero ($ZRO) with a 58% increase, and $DEXE with a 53% increase have recorded remarkable gains in the last 90 days.

BlackRock’s ETHB staking ETF routes 70–95% of its Ethereum into validators run by Figment and others. Figment runs part of the validator infrastructure for ETHB alongside Galaxy Digital and Attestant, handling block proposals, attestations, and network security duties for the fund’s staked ETH. The ETF launched with about $100–107m in assets, did roughly $15.5m in first-day volume, and passes around 82% of gross staking rewards to shareholders, with a 0.25% fee cut to 0.12% on the first $2.5b for a year. BlackRock’s new iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB) is pulling institutional staking into the ETF wrapper — and delegating a crucial piece of that infrastructure to Figment. The fund, listed on Nasdaq under the ticker ETHB, is BlackRock’s first crypto product that offers staking rewards on top of spot exposure, staking between roughly 70% and 95% of its ether holdings through professional validator operators. Figment has been named one of the key node operators for ETHB, responsible for running Ethereum validation infrastructure, processing transactions, and helping secure the network on behalf of the trust. ETHB quietly marks a structural shift in how traditional finance can access Ethereum’s (ETH) proof‑of‑stake economy. At launch, the ETF came to market with around $100–107 million in initial assets and generated about $15.5 million in trading volume on its first day, according to multiple data providers. Under normal conditions, the fund stakes most of that ether, returning roughly 82% of gross staking rewards to shareholders, with the current implied annualized yield around 3.1%, while BlackRock and its partners retain the remainder as fees. Pundit Agrees XRP Could See Repricing With CLARITY Act
In an X post, crypto pundit Archie drew attention to an interview Pandl had on the Paul Barron podcast in which the Grayscale executive agreed that XRP could see a repricing once the CLARITY Act passes. Barron specifically questioned Pandl about Section 205 of the Act, which could make Ripple restructure its XRP holdings in a bid to make the token more decentralized.

Pandl noted that this could boost XRP’s value, especially if future inflation is reduced. This could come in the form of Ripple potentially reducing its token unlocks. Archie commented on Pandl’s remarks, highlighting how reduced inflation could unlock value across the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The Grayscale executive had also noted that their XRP ETF was already seeing huge investor demand, which could increase once there is regulatory clarity.

Commenting on this, Archie stated that people are positioning early because they know what is coming, and that institutions are seeking exposure. He also noted that the popularity of these XRP ETFs is “off the charts” even before the passage of the CLARITY Act. The pundit predicts that the crypto market will see the largest liquidity injection ever once the long-awaited clarity arrives.

Archie also mentioned that trillions in sidelined capital will flood in, ETFs will go “nuclear,” and that XRP will lead the charge into mainstream adoption. He affirmed that this is not hype or any sort of manipulation but simply seeing everything they had predicted become reality.

Pi Network has officially opened its second migration phase, allowing Pioneers who have already moved their first Pi balance to Mainnet to bring additional tokens on-chain. That was the first migration. What is now live is the second migration, meaning tokens that were not part of the initial transfer, including accumulated mining rewards and referral bonuses, can now make their way on-chain.This is an important development for supply dynamics. It also means Pioneers who have been holding additional balances off-chain now have a path to full participation in the ecosystem.

The rollout is gradual by design. Pi Network has been consistent about phased releases to avoid flooding the market or overwhelming infrastructure, and second migrations follow that same approach.

The eligibility requirement is straightforward but non-negotiable. Before any migration, first or second, can be processed, Pioneers must set up two-factor authentication on their Pi Wallet through Step 5 of the Mainnet Checklist.
