Tesla has received regulatory clearance to convert its investment in Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence firm xAI into a small stake in SpaceX, formalizing financial ties between the billionaire’s companies ahead of the rocket maker’s planned initial public offering, according to a Bloomberg report.

Filings with the US Federal Trade Commission list Tesla as the acquirer of a SpaceX stake from Musk. The documents, dated March 11, also show Musk selling additional holdings to investors, including Valor Equity Partners and DFJ Growth.

The filings relate to Tesla’s previously disclosed $2 billion investment in xAI, which was recently rolled into SpaceX following the merger of the AI firm with the rocket company. The conversion would leave Tesla with a stake of less than 1% in SpaceX.

Musk previously acquired Twitter in 2022 and later merged the platform, now called X, with xAI in a $33 billion deal. That move paved the way for the SpaceX tie-up, creating a combined entity valued at about $1.75 trillion when the transaction was announced earlier this year.

Bitcoin Price Reclaims $73,000 as War Shakes Markets, Outperforming Gold and Stocks

Bitcoin price climbed to $73,000 and outperformed gold, silver, and major U.S. stock indexes as rising oil prices and escalating Middle East conflict shook global markets.
The Bitcoin price has outperformed gold, silver, and major U.S. equity indexes since the outbreak of the Iran–Israel conflict escalation 2026, climbing above $73,000 even as oil surged and expectations for near-term interest rate cuts faded.

Market data shows Bitcoin price rising about 8% since the first strikes against Iran, reaching a one-month high above $73,000. The move placed the digital asset ahead of several traditional safe-haven and risk assets during a period of geopolitical stress.

Gold declined during the same stretch, falling roughly 3% from levels seen before the conflict began. Silver dropped more than 10%, sliding from above $90 to around $82. U.S. equities also weakened, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite each down between 1% and 2%.

The divergence came as global markets responded to a surge in energy prices. Crude oil climbed close to 20%, breaking above $100 per barrel for the first time in nearly four years as tensions threatened supply routes across the Middle East. 

These conditions often pressure crypto markets because higher oil prices and tighter financial conditions raise inflation concerns and reduce risk appetite across global portfolios.

The bitcoin price followed that pattern at first.

In the hours after the conflict began, the asset dropped sharply as traders cut exposure across crypto derivatives markets. Roughly $300 million in leveraged positions were liquidated during the initial weekend selloff. Bitcoin briefly fell toward the mid-$63,000 range as uncertainty spread through global markets.

The bankruptcy estate of FTX has moved another large batch of crypto as part of its ongoing effort to repay creditors after the exchange’s dramatic collapse in 2022. Through its trading arm, Alameda Research, the estate recently unstaked and transferred about $17 million worth of Solana (SOL) to a distribution wallet.
This move is part of the court-approved liquidation process designed to gradually sell off remaining assets and return funds to those affected by the exchange’s downfall. Even after this transfer, Alameda still holds roughly $321 million in SOL, meaning more tokens could continue entering the market periodically as the restructuring process moves forward.
Large liquidations like this sometimes raise concerns about added selling pressure. However, Solana’s network activity remains surprisingly strong. Recent on-chain data shows that more SOL is being staked than unstaked. In one recent 24-hour period, around $246 million worth of SOL was activated for staking, while about $170 million was withdrawn. That results in a net inflow of roughly $76 million, suggesting that both institutional and retail investors are still showing confidence in the network.
From a market perspective, SOL appears to be settling into a consolidation phase after recent volatility, currently trading between $80 and $90. If the network continues to absorb the tokens being sold from the FTX estate without breaking key support levels, analysts believe the price could test the $95–$100 resistance zone in the near term.
On the other hand, if the estate speeds up the liquidation of its remaining $300+ million in SOL, the added supply could push the price back toward the $80 support level before any stronger upward momentum develops.

Oversold Conditions Catch The Market’s Attention
Bitcoin climbed back above $70,000 on Tuesday, nudging social media chatter into what market intelligence firm Santiment describes as “FOMO territory.”

Positive discussions across the social media sphere nosedived on Monday before recovering sharply as prices ticked upward.

The shift was swift. According to Santiment, crypto markets tend to move fast during periods of uncertainty because they operate around the clock and are not tied to any single government or financial system.

The price recovery was partly triggered by comments from US President Donald Trump, who said the conflict with Iran was “very complete, pretty much” — a signal that tensions in the Middle East may be easing.

Oil prices moved lower in response. That gave crypto traders something to work with.

Trump’s remarks were followed almost immediately by a post on Truth Social warning that the US would increase military pressure on Iran if oil supply was disrupted.

The mixed signals didn’t stop the Bitcoin rally, but they added a layer of uncertainty that traders couldn’t ignore.

Bitcoin $BTC$71,859.13 is adding to overnight gains in early U.S. trading on Friday, continuing to show strong relative price action after many months of underperformance to assets like stocks and precious metals.

Trading at $73,800, bitcoin is higher by nearly 5% over the past 24 hours, with most of those gains coming after U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Thursday evening said the Trump administration is taking concrete steps to try and cap surging oil prices.

Bitcoin is now higher by about 11% since the Iran war broke out, outperforming broad U.S. stock indices and gold, both of which have lost ground since the bombs began dropping about two weeks ago.

WTI oil on Friday is trading at $94.50 per barrel, down from a high of nearly $98 on Thursday. U.S. stocks are posting gains of about 0.5%.

Oil raises stagflationary risk

The recent spike in oil prices is putting direct pressure on household budgets and, if sustained, could weaken consumer spending and slow economic growth, according to Olu Sonola, head of US economics at Fitch Ratings.

"Yes, the broader economy is still expected to grow at trend, but that forecast increasingly looks fragile as downside risks accumulate. ... The Fed can shrug off pockets of weakening growth, but resurgent inflation severely limits its room to maneuver, leaving policy potentially stranded for months," he wrote in a note.

Relief bounce

After a period of some of the worst sentiment in bitcoin's history, it's perhaps not too surprising that there's been some modest gains of late.

Funding positioning of perpetual futures traders has been negative for the longest period since late 2022, K33 Research analyst Vetle Lunde noted.
